Thanks Darkash.
You don't want to call me Zigzag. That's my evil twin - he might take offense. Funny thing - he only ever makes an appearance on the night of a full moon - and no-ones ever seen us together...
If Ixy's not undead, he's certainly overdone the diet a bit! On the other hand, I think it says in the entry you fight him in that he's a "supernatural being" rather than undead. On the other other hand (yes, I have three hands), the undead are supernatural, by definition, so that's not a contradiction.
Where did this guy come from anyway? I assume he's not just a really powerful Agarashi.

I would assume he is some sort of lich like being... just because JD did not explicitly state he is undead, does not mean that he is not, some things are just so obvious...
Al Who checked, and found out his numbers were right all along

Well, Ixiataaga was a lieutenant of Agarash, who is sometimes called a demonlord (War of the Wizards), and Tagazin, who is also a demonlord, is Ixiataaga's servant. So presumably Ixiataaga might also belong to the demonlord ranks - and demonlords are supernatural, but not undead.

Thomas, I think you're probably right. Oh well, I'll have to start the series all over again
By the way, if I spot a problem with a PA edition, is there anywhere in particular I should post it to? I think I spotted a problem in the Deathlord of Ixia: if you try to get over that electric barrier thing, you might find yourself at a section that assumes that you used Kai Alchemy to get up there - but that isn't necessarily the case.

Hi Zagzig
You can either post it here, or use the Contact Form which will post the issue directly to the mailing list. Remember to state which book/section you're referring to, and also explain the issue.

Cheers Outspaced. Here's the problem:
Section 273 of The Deathlord of Ixia says: "Having used Brotherhood magic to assist your climb..."
But if you arrived at section 273 from section 297 (from the option "If you have reached the Kai rank of Sun Thane..."), you would not have used Brotherhood magic (Kai-Alchemy)!
I suggest:
EITHER section 297 should direct the reader to section 49 only, and not give the option to turn to 297.
OR section 297 should incorporate the text from section 49 as well, directing the reader straight to section 300 at the end of it (Section 49 would still be accessible from section 136).

Hi Zagzig
Well done in spotting the error. An easier fix would be to alter the wording of the option in Section 297 to: "If you possess the Grand Master Discipline of Kai-alchemy and have reached the rank of Sun Thane, turn to 273." In fact, I'm sure that's what the text was originally supposed to read.
Thomas, you're usually better than I am at spotting rules anomolies and working out fixes for them: does this sound like the best fix, or would one of zagzig's more involved fixes be better in this instance?

Hm, this change is not perfect either, since if you had Kai-alchemy, you would probably have gone to 136, not 297, from either 20, 32, 143, 192, or 203. And it doesn't help when 297 says "Having used Brotherhood magic to assist your climb...". So I'm more inclined to remove the link from 297 to 273.
And right before this place there was another continuity error... this book is almost up there competing with Grey Star the Wizard...

I suppose it is possible to arrive at 297 if you do have Kai Alchemy - after all you're given the OPTION of using it at 20, 32, 143, 192 and 203 - you don't HAVE to use it. So in theory you might decide (for some strange reason) not to use Kai Alchemy and climb up the pillar, but then once you've got to the top of the pillar you might decide to use it after all to get down the other side.
The easiest thing to do would be to assume that the reader's decision not to use Kai-alchemy at 20, 32, 143, 192 or 203 is final, and that they wouldn't want to use it to descend if they didn't want to use it to ascend. All you'd have to do then is remove the link from 297 to 273.
If you did want to give the reader the option of changing their mind once they'd reached the top, some more involved changes would have to be made. Firstly, the choices at the end of section 297 would have to be changed to read something like:
"If you possess Kai-alchemy, and have reached the Kai rank of Sun Thane, turn to 273. If you do not possess this skill, or if you have yet to attain this level of Kai Mastery, turn to 49."
Unfortunately, section 273 assumes that you used Kai-alchemy to ascend: "Having used Brotherhood magic to assist your climb... etc"
Since that might not have been the case, that sentence would have to be changed to something like: "You call on Brotherhood magic to aid your descent. The spell Slow Fall... etc".
Personally, I'd go with the first option.
I'm surprised about the continuity errors in this book - it's fairly "linear", so you'd think they'd be easy to spot.
