Create this thread to not mix with the other Map thread.
just got my map(s)! love it, something I dreamed about when I photocopied all the maps from book 1-12 and tried to glue them together to get a more world wide view... now it is here!
My initial thoughts of the map * It is wonderful, great job. * Kaag? not the image of Kaag I had in mind * Western Kalte names? thought they would be named different. * Lencia: Westhaven so little comparing to the rest, in Dragons of Lencia you get the picture it is the 3rd biggest city or so. * River Durn? what is the story behind that river... looks strange
you who got the map also... your thoughts?
I really recommend everyone to buy it... the packing is nice.. the map is nice... something a real LW fan MUST have...

At the risk of sounding incredibly thick, can I ask-- how did you order a copy? I've spent the last 10 minutes trying to work out how to purchase it via the page on the Le Grimoire site. I can accept that the whole page is in French, which is something of an obstacle, but even after feeding the link through Google Translate, it's still not clear how I add something to the 'shopping basket'.

sorry I just went to their site and it says "Référence : Carte en Anglais / English Map Disponibilité : Ce produit n'est plus en stock " And that means they don't got any more in the stock... there must be more re-seller and hopefully Le Grimoire order in more... out of stock means it is a hit!

Ah! That makes more sense. Bloody Google Translate translated that text as "This product is in stock"! Well, I'll add my E-mail address and hope they reprint, then. :-\

French is tricky, lived here 6 years and still cannot learn it good but the "n'est" means like "is not" where as "est" means "is"... just this little n'.... well you got that in English too.. Did/Didn't... little letter(s) big differences. I feel bad now I ordered 2 maps... I'm sure they will print more or in Le Grimoire's case order in more.

Hi, I'm Francesco Mattioli, illustrator of the map (sorry, my english is not very good, I hope to be clear enough). I'm very glad you like it, I worked on the map for the last 4-5 years along with Joe, Vincent and Florent and I hope every fan will be satisfied. I'm sorry but for now it's impossible to order: we had a big problem with the shipping from Italy to UK and you'll have to wait a little more. Some copies went to Le Grimoire wich gently cares for the French market, but the others will be sold by Joe Dever in a new website (I'll tell you the address as soon as it will be online). Don't worry because we'll reprint the map if it will be sold-out! About jbryntze questions: - Kaag is shaped as in book 12. I chose that icon because it feels more "medieval", even if less realistic... but I guess a Varetian cartographer in MS 5050 had not many chances to visit Kaag! - Westhaven: I really don't know... house+tower means a big city (a smaller icon doesn't always mean smaller city), but I'm not an expert of the expanded universe. I took Westhaven icon from book 15. - Kalte & R. Durn: Many features on the map are a surprise to me too. I had no time to ask explanations about this sad river... I'll come to this thread sometimes to read what you think of my work. Please let me know everything good/bad about the map, and feel free to ask!

Hats off Francesco, that looks fantastic! I'll be keeping an eye on when this becomes available again - it needs to be on the wall in my apartment!

Yes really great work Francesco! and thanks for the answers to my questions (I got answered the river and the other from others). The front page... I assume it is a Drakkarim on a kraan? the knight... a Sommerlund royal knight? what is the Castle in the background? Also on your web page I visit daily... you done art around it to look like the books? will it be used for re-prints of the books? Will you do more of those? saw you added banners such as Delden and also the Salony you took away the S in it... I would like to see more of those

When they are made available, I shall purchase enough of these to wallpaper my entire house. Or maybe just one will do

Another English question...How do I select ENGLAND from the drop-down menu? I can't see l'Angleterre or Grande Bretagne on there... Edit: Got it! "Royaume-Uni" for anyone trying to order this from Britain who doesn't speak French. (It's "United Kingdom".)
