Hi all. I'm new in this forum. I'd like to know if there is any board game about LW (I think not). Or perhaps something like LW ...
Thanks a lot!

Not like Lone Wolf, but one I really enjoy is Descent: Journey into Darkness.

Hi alexokai
The Magnamund Companion contains a board game called Ragadorn Alehouse Tavern. You can download The Magnamund Companion as a PDF from the Project Aon website.
Hope it helps!

Yes, I saw the game "Ragadorn Alehouse Tavern" but have not played it yet. I own "Return of the heroes", which, despite having played a few times, I think is good. Should be a board game based on, at least, the first two books of LW. What do you think

Yo out.... Any way of taking the Ragadorn game out of the book and putting just that up on the site? Be kinda neat.

If you mean having it as a multi-player game hosted from the site--I haven't even the faintest clue where to start with that!

LWRPGoL off of TotS! Zipp already did this as a d20 game, amended from the d20 adaption of the Ragadorn tavern game by...someone else *forgets the name*. It was quite fun actually, I was the Knight and lost an eye The brotherhood mage fell in with esentially a rogue and got killed by a buccaneer acting as an assassin, generally eveil triumphed and good got nothing to show for it. Oh, except that we killed the Helghast! Great little game that

Maybe it could be configured to play online, Thomas, I don't know. I'm just spitting out an idea.

It's essentially an RPG though, so there is no way to play it online without other people. So you may as well use a forum based thing like RPoL, LWRPGoL, etc and screen capture the map

Ok, I was just thinking about a board game with the "atmosphere" of LW. Have you tried anything similar to it

Actually.. Sorry for the necromancy in dragging this up again, but I'm currently working on a board game that plays off round about the time of FftD. Would anyone be interested in hearing what I have so far? Or should I start a new thread in the Auxiliary forum?

I'm always interested in projects like this, though I don't think I've seen any come to fruition. Feel free to send a PM or just post openly.

I accidently clicked on one of the Freesky Online advert banners, and now I'm hooked... Goodbye all hopes of finishing the board game!
Ahem. Anyway, the game. The basic premise of the game is Good vs. Evil, set in the map area that we see from Book 1: the Kai Monastery in the middle, Toran to the north, Tyso to the east, Holmgard to the south-east, and the Durncrag mountains to the west. The map consists of six-sided hex cells, and each group of about 19 hexes is grouped together as a Region. These regions vary and are based on the terrain types - farmlands, forests, villages, foothills, etc.
Each player controls a single character, either a Kai (for the Good side) or a Drakkar (for the Evil side). Each character type - Kai or Drakkar - has a set of disciplines he can learn. For the Kai, this consists of the skills available through the Kai/ Magnakai/ Grand Master series. For the Drakkar, similar disciplines have been created, albeit with a darker feel - 'Beast Handling' instead of 'Animal Kinship', 'Scavenging' instead of 'Hunting', etc. Each character starts at level zero, and can progress up to a maximum level of twenty by killing opponents, completing quests and capturing Regions for their respective factions (Good or Evil). Whenever a character is killed, they simply start over at level zero.
The character's inventory works exactly like the gamebooks: you have two melee weapon slots, one ranged weapon slot, eight Backpack slots, and twelve Special Item slots. When you kill an enemy unit, you can take any equipment they have; if you reach a shop, you can buy/sell items; if you reach a Base in a Region that your faction controls, you can recover Endurance; etc etc.
Each character has three basic stats: Combat Skill (CS), Endurance Points (EP) and Willpower Points (WP). The first two are used as per the normal LW rules. Willpower is used to make Mindforce attacks, defend yourself against Mindforce attacks, and use various forms of magic that become available later.
Urm... What else. You can make ranged attacks to units in adjacent hexes; you can acquire a mount - horse, Kraan, Doomwolf, etc - that will increase your CS and allow you to move more hexes during a turn; the gameplay is divided into Day and Night cycles, each consisting of four consecutive turns - at Night, characters have difficulty fighting, but can evade combat easier. Also, when night falls, characters can become fatigued and then have to sleep for at least one turn to get rid of the fatigue penalties.
The quest will be available either from the Kai monastery, Holmgard, Toran, or the main as-yet-nameless Darklord camp in the Durncrags. Each quest will be based loosely on one of the LW books - completing the quest will give the character a massive experience boost and some unique item from that quest; failing the quest can result in death, or a bonus to the enemy faction.
I'm busy typing up the game sequence rules at the moment, will post it here if anyone is interested.
