Hey everyone, I've been juggling with the idea of making a flash-based version of Project Aon Lone Wolf editions for some time now, and with the books in print again and all that, now seems to be the good time! To goal of this flash game would be to be able to enjoy Lone Wolf on any computer that has access to the Internet, no matter your OS and your browser (as long as it supports flash ). It would be a completely automated game, taking care of your action chart, random number table picks and all that, it would be super lightweight by dynamically downloading content as your game progress, and should allow you to save your game in an online database so you can start a game at home and continue it anywhere else (maybe at work... ) Anyways, I just wanted to see if there's any interest for that kind of app... So let me know if that's something you would enjoy! Also, if there's 'official' Project Aon interest in the project (mainly hosting) it would be nice!!!

Sounds extremely useful. Remarkably like my program, but cross-platform, and remotely accessed. Sweet features, man. If you do pull it off, I'm sure you'll find plenty of interested people.
Something I've discovered whilst on various forums(other than this one) is that people are generally prone to show more interest and support if you actually have something to show - something concrete, like a demo, or at least some screenshots. Good ideas are good, but there are several "good ideas" hosted already at the bottom of the main forum screen, which remain indefinitely in an unfinished state.
I think if you actually code something up, so that people can see you are serious about the project, I'll bet you'll get plenty of support.

...should allow you to save your game in an online database... The original version of Statskeeper did this, but used cookies which were prone to disappearing, leaving you with no saved data.

Hey Dave, thanks for the advice.
Actually I decided to start this idea when I saw how much hype there was around your app, which by the way is very nice.
I had already started to develop something in the .net framework with the above mentionned features (dynamic content download, etc.) but your app is way better that what I had, with all the cool looking features & everything... Maybe we could help each other out? I know my share in programming but I'm not that much of an artist... :-P
Anyway I'm gonna follow your advice and start coding right now, I hope to have screenshots to show you pretty soon.
TBC...

Ok, so this idea is defenitely abandoned, Flash/ActionScript is not a good choice to program something like this.
The idea of a full-blown online LW reader is however still alive and going well! More on this real soon.

In theory, VBScript should allow you to do what you are trying to do.

If you are serious about this project, you should take a long, hard look at Adobe Flex. It provides all the functionality you'd need for something like this and has that super slick Flash/Rich Internet Application feel to it.
