Were watching LOTR the other night and it struck me: How come noone tried to make a movie out of Lone Wolf books? Why did the preproduction in mid 90s terminate? Lone Wolf would be as good as LOTR but with more action more than epic scenes. Its a great idea in this fantasy craving world. Why dosent it happend?

There is a manga-style movie coming for 2010 or 2011.

That's something JD talked about last year in Lucca. This year, he only claims that something will be announced soon.

That might be Lone Wolf & Cub... it's already out, I think. It's about a samurai with a little baby.

Now that would be interesting to see, maybe a feature length pilot episode and then a series depending on the success of the first.
I cant really imagine the books compacted into a movie, wouldnt it just be a collection of mini stories really? I suppose you could choose a couple of stories and embelish them but you couldnt do them all. I think Lone Wolf lends itself more towards a series.

Personally I prefer *game* books.. But if the movie was to be a game movie! That would totally rock!

That's something JD talked about last year in Lucca. This year, he only claims that something will be announced soon. Well, something has finally been announced: Convergence Entertainment has grabbed the right to make a live action LW movie with a budget ranging from $30 million to $35 million. I'd be in for that ... and I rarely watch movies. Hopefully Banedon's as pretty of a boy as I've always imagined him

Who (which actor) would you suggest for the main roles (Lone Wolf, Ulnar, Banedon, Pelathar, Vonotar, Madelon, Alin, Axim, Kelman, Madin Rendalim, Lachlan, Viveka, Parsion) if the scenario of the film concerns the two first books?

You'd never get him, but there's a pretty obvious pick for Lone Wolf, especially an older Lone Wolf... In truth, it's a recent belief of mine that after his various adventures, Lone Wolf took a Shadow Gate to Earth assumed the identity of actor Brad Pitt after the man died of a cocaine overdose after a Hollywood Party. That's why "Brad" dumped Jen (who knew her then husband) and hooked up with Angelina... Yes. I'm kidding. Really.
