Many books ask if you visited a certain location, did a certain action, or met a certain person in a previous adventure. For those of us with bad memories, we may need a refresher.
That's why I was thinking of having the words "have you visited/met/participated in X in a previous adventure" should link to the place where that would happen. That way, you can be sure you did or didn't do the action, meet the person, or visit the location.

That's a good idea, actually...often, I don't remember where I've been this play-through, especially if it's a while from one book to the next. This is especially true in later books where I'm not as familiar with the plot or an ideal route.

I don't think this would be a good idea in the books. For example, something like: "Have you ever visited the Isle of Ghosts in a previous adventure?" could link to any of 20 numbered sections with a view to trying to jog the readers' memory. It could also be considered spoiler-tastic since you might not have visited location X and might stumble upon it in a subsequent play-through.
It sounds more like a job for Seventh Sense than the HTML editions of the books, to be honest, and I think that will do the job very nicely indeed, from what Dave has said.
