Yes. The Oede Herb is the prime example; you can use it to cure the korovax you may get infected with in book 8, which means that you have to have held on to it since book 5, and even kept it in safekeeping during book 7! (Unless you completely skipped that book.) You can't find it anywhere else than book 5?

You can't find it anywhere else than book 5? Books 5 and 13 are the only ones (of those that PA has published this far) where you can find it. Then you can use it as an antidote or to cure nasty stuff in books 8, 10, 11, 14 and 15.

Ah, so backpack items CAN be left in safekeeping.

Ah, so backpack items CAN be left in safekeeping. Yep, this was cleared up in Newsletter 7. It's amazing how often I refer to Newsletter 7... Guess there's a lot of stuff there. -Ss

Having now started the Grand Master Adventures, I can confirm that starting with #13, the text allows you specifically to store backpack items. So it must have been an oversight from the first 12 books, even though they always remind you that you can't carry more than 2 weapons and 8 backpack items all along.

I suppose it also makes logical sense. I mean, why can't Lone Wolf keep his stuff at his house?
That's my take on it.

It is MS5081. You are Lone Wolf. You are hungry. You have a donut that was in your backpack when the Kai Monastary was destroyed so many years ago.
If you do not wish to eat the donut, lose 3 EP.
If you eat the donut, go to Section 911.

I guess Joe introduced that rule because in book 13, you can bring only a few Special Items that you had at the end of the Magnakai quest, but that list changes in book 14. In book 17 though, the list is the same than in book 13. So, for three books, you have to keep a few items at the monastery in order to reuse them later.

What's weird though is that after book 5, you don't go back to the monastery until the end of book 12. If you left stuff back there, do the Elder Magi send a skyship to fetch whatever you need before the next adventure?

In book 17 though, the list is the same than in book 13. No, it isn't. Two items go missing between the Book 13 list and the one in Book 17, and with good reason.

The thing that I wanted to say is that items that were on the list in book 13 and not in book 14 are back in book 17, but I forgot that 2 other items disappear in a certain book. I'm making so many mistakes lately...I might be tired...

The herbs which you find in book seven on the Beastmen are Adgana leaves. You can find some more in book 13. They give you +6CS for a combat, but on the roll of 0-1 you become addicted and lose 4 endurance points permanently. If you take some for a second time, the chance of becoming addicted increases to 0-3.

Ah yes. I may have seen these before. I used to always take Curing, so once I may have known what they were. Lately I have been leaving Curing for last since I already get the +1 EP/ Section from Healing.
Curing gets good in Book 12 though.

If you eat the donut, go to Section 911. I never keep Meals in Safekeeping, for this very reason. Not that I ever really need food, because of Hunting, but I always take a couple of Meals along, just in case. I can always ditch them during the adventure if I need to. -GB
