You sound like a fantastic and original teacher. Best wishes to your immediate family, and good vibes towards your newly-extended kids. This will make a difference in many of their lives.

Wow, amazing story sir. You could also touch upon how SS is programmed in C++ and some basic computer science logic behind it (unless they teach that to kids these days anyway).
I gotta ask, if you're reading it aloud, do you act out the NPC dialogue?
Also, I hope you don't run into any trouble with religious zealot parents when you get to the GM series and LW becomes proto-[good].

Yes, I did voices for all the dialogue, much to the amusement of the students. The sad part is that I'm not going to be at the same school next year, so I had to leave the fledgling Kai I created to their own devices - halfway through book 6 was as far as we got. I'm not sure whether or not I'll be able to do the same thing at my new school next year, but I'll keep you guys posted if I do.

What a really inspiring story - how have things progressed for you since you've changed schools?
I'm a teacher in a teacher-training college and this thread has given me tons of inspiration for my students who will be teaching English to foreign school children.
I'm really glad I stumbled upon this thread.

Wow, you're awesome. It's really a good way to promote the series to the younger generations. Just to share a little, I found the series thirteen years ago, played them countless times and still keep the hard-earned books with me (most of them were found in places that sell secondhand books in my country). I still remember having two notebooks and one dictionary with me every time I played them. One was to record the adventures and stats, the other I used to jolt down new vocabs I didn't understand. The riddles and math questions were really tough back then since I needed to translate many of the terms into my native language first before I could solve them.
At least my English is better nowadays... Lone Wolf series really contributed a lot in improving this language.
