Are there any copies of higher resolution scans of the original color maps? Or perhaps the same res, but higher quality (lossless, like .png)? I'm just envisioning some changes to the map-viewing in Seventh Sense, with varying levels of zoom to make the names easier to read, etc. But most of the maps are almost unreadable as they currently stand... I'd love to be able to intergrate higher quality images, if they are available somehow...

I have the same question, so I'm giving my "vote" to this thread too. I'm particularly interested in the map for the first books, for no other reason that the names are very difficult to read. Any thoughts on a re-scan? The image file uploaded is probably from the early days of this project, right?
Yours, humbly Sam

When we re-released Books 1-5 earlier this year, we did replace the maps with better scanned copies and saved in a non-lossy format. We are slowly working toward getting the other books edited and ready for release (it's getting closer, honestly!) and so you can expect the maps for Books 6-8 will soon also be replaced with better quality ones.
Maps 1-8 and 21 will always be of a lower quality than 9-20 and 21-28 because we don't have access to Gary Chalk's or Trevor Newton's original artwork and we are forced to scan the maps from the books. With Brian Williams' maps, we have been able to work from his original illustrations, meaning the resultant maps are of a substantially higher quality. Similarly, parts of the maps for the Freeway Warrior books have been recreated to ensure the legibility of the labels.

Hi, I know this is an old post but I could scan the Summerlund map from the 1st Lone Wolf book at a high resolution if needed. 600 dpi, 16 bit grayscale to be precise. With perhaps 35-45% in Noise Reduction and a slight increase to the Levels (blacks and whites). I've been scanning and editing comic books for several years so I pretty good at this sorta thing.
Just let me know. I might be able to scan a few more from 2-8. I'd have to check though.

I would certainly be interested in getting higher resolution copies of all of the maps. I use them as wallpaper for my desktop.

Very well. I'll get started as soon as possible. Glad to be able to contribute in any manner.

There are higher-res SVG versions of the colour maps (the labels have been deleted and re-added as a vector layer above the colour raster layer) available here.
