Hi All
New to the website and forum and first of all may i say... FECK YES!! What an amazing site for all the game books! AND I just read that the long awaited lone wold RPG computer game is back in development!!!! I for one cannot wait for this!!
Mainly, however, this thread is a plea to ALL the computer game designers on the computer game project NOT to screw up this one as has been done for a LOT of newly released RPGs!!
My main example is 'Drakensang' - a new release based on the old realms of arkania trilogy! Now i ADORED the original trilogy even with its dated engines and graphics etc, but for some reason these new RPG developers care more about good 3D graphics and lots of items etc than releasing games with good character development, great quests and a few tangents thrown in for some fun along the way.
PLEASE dont let this happen to the Lone Wolf release!!! I'd even suggest making it with an older (ROA or Might and Magic 6-8 style) engine to make it awesome (of course that wont get the game sold so there must be a happy medium). Even make it flow into a sequel and trilogy with transferrable save games so we can develop from kai->Magnakai->Grandmaster
Does ANYone else on the forum think I have a point here or am i talking out of my backside?!

Hi Hairy Bear!
Many thanks for all the feedback.
We are all painfully aware of how badly porting to new territory can go in all forms of media.
Regrettably, AON has little contact with developers of commercial games, other than to publish information about them on these forums as and when our members hear about them.
For non-commercial games which "simply" display the book content as book pages, we have a number of developers working on different platforms. All of these have been very well received, and you can see a variety of them discussed on the forums here.
As far as I know, the commercial games have been based around the world of Lone Wolf rather than the stories themselves - but I could easily be wrong here!
In terms of engines, we all like to reminisce how good game X was in engine Y - and there have been a lot of misses over the years - but there are a lot of games out there that make very good use of new engines, preserving both story and action.
We can but wait & see!
