[quote author=lorddarkstorm board=lwfuture thread=2317 post=39738 time=1374089364 Why don't you ask them to refund you for 18 and start sending from 19?[/quote] I honestly don't have the strength left. Even Lone Wolf got to retire eventually. I fear I'd need to train a whole New Order of Megadeal customers to take up the fight. Worst case I'll Ebay the one from Mongoose, my Mantikore one is signed by the great man himself. Balgin - FYI - I'm in the UK and took about half a day to get the response from Matt.

Has there been any mention of the practicalities yet? I was wondering if we have to wait for mongoose to get a delivery and ship them, or if they are just paying mantikore to do the work - and so who we have to contact if it all goes wrong!

The exact wording was "and we will start getting books out to you." As Greg said somewhere on the last page that he'd seen copies of Bk18 at the Mongoose offices I assume that they'll come from Mongoose directly. While the Long Wolf production was, at best "questionable", their mail room always seemed very good. I'll post something as and when my copy of Bk18 arrives.
I can't see Mantikore really wanting to get involved with the Megadeal at all. I'd guess that it's easier for Mongoose just to bulk order a shed load. It's actually a pretty sensible way of meeting the original Megadeal contracts when I stopped an thought about it.

Nonetheless, if true, truly is good news. Only time will tell, but at least we can be cautiously optimistic! Without wanting to dampen any flames, I need to caution everyone that this is all a bit up in the air at the moment. Yes, we have made a deal with Mantikore for a supply of books, but it is a small number (and we haven't quite got the logistics sorted yet, as we haven't had the full delivery yet - though the books we have received have already gone out). We have also made arrangements to buy more books from Mantikore in order to cover more megadeal customers, but we don't know how many that is going to be yet, and I have doubts as to whether it will cover everyone. I think, at the end of the day, a proportion will get a refund, a proportion will receive Mongoose goodies in lieu (if you are Dredd fans as well, now is a very good time to get on board!), and a proportion will continue with the Megadeal. As for any culpability for this side of the megadeal, that is all on us - Mongoose accepts full responsibility.

While this is nice to see, I finding that I'm just having the same aggravations all over again. I requested the refund way back when and, except for a confirmation email, never heard anything again and still haven't received the refund despite numerous request for an update.
Now, maybe I'm getting the books again instead of a refund. Who knows? I haven't received any notification from Mongoose on this, and they haven't replied to my emails in the week since I first read this. I can't spend the rest of my life trying to get in touch with Matt trying to figure out what the [insert expletive of choice] is going on. I have neither book, refund, nor communication from Mongoose on any of this despite repeated attempts on my part.
I'm sorry, but this just feels like the same old bs to me.

I've been asking Matt for either refund or information on the Mantikore situation and giving him an out. If refund, I've given a hard deadline of the end of August. If the books come via Mongoose via Mantikore, then I'm more flexible.
Since I've taken this stance several weeks ago, Matt hasn't responded to any of my emails. Maybe it's because I live in the US, or maybe he just doesn't like hard and fast deadlines, but I take that as a bad sign. And I'm tired of the same old "we'll get around to you" responses.
Mongoose's problems aren't mine. I paid for the books and either refund me or fulfill the deal in a timely manner. By end of August, I start escalating.
Enough is enough.

Well, I finally got a reply. I, very reluctantly, decided to keep getting the books through Mongoose (via Mantikore). I don't trust Mongoose's communication or commitment to this as it's fairly obvious that Lone Wolf and its fans are rock bottom priorities as far as Mongoose is concerned. I'm convinced that had I not heard this here, Mongoose would never have said anything and I still wouldn't have my refund.
I went this route for two reasons:
1- Since Mongoose isn't publishing the books, they really don't have to do much (which is good since they won't). 2- Money. Being in the US, the price with shipping from Mantikore was very steep. Even with the refund (assuming I ever got it), that would barely have covered half the remaining books. I don't want to risk having low finances in the future that prevent me from spending $30+ for each book.

One of the things Mongoose excel at is not doing themselves any favours on the communication front. My reasons for continuing the Megadeal aren't dissimilar to yours Keththewizard, I looked at what it was gonna cost me to buy from Mantikore (or JD on Ebay) and worked out it was way cheaper to stay with Mongoose, even with Mantikore offering free postage on very early pre-orders. As I say though, Mongoose are (usually) very good at mailing stuff out. If you really want the books *and* can get onto the continued Megadeal *and* can live with the trust issues, it's by far the cheaper option.
It's a really sad state of affairs that customers are still being ignored by Mongoose though. I'm sure that with a little effort, a lot of bad feeling could be avoided. I know for a fact that my temper and anxiety levels weren't helped at all by long silences from Mongoose while they still had the Lone Wolf rights. At the very least Megadeal customers should know exactly where they stand in the scheme of things and shouldn't have to resort to badgering the management to get a simple answer.
On a more positive note: I just got back to work after a holiday and found my Mongoose shipped copy of Book 18 waiting in the mail cupboard. One down, fourteen more to come. Roll on December and Book 19!

Packaged by Mongoose. The same heavy card packaging they always used.

It's been a while and I'm glad that at least some people have received Book 18 from Mongoose; I am not one of them. It's been almost a month to the day since I made my request to receive the books in lieu of a refund. Now, it would frequently takes 6-8 weeks to get a book to me despite living in the same state as their distribution center (something I never understood) but I suppose there's still some small hope left.
The worst part of all this is: I'm starting to lose interest in LW. I've never seen anything past Book 20 (living in the US) and every time I pick up a book to play I just get angry and frustrated.

Got LW 18 from Mongoose a week ago or so. I'll hang in with the Status Quo with Mantikore and Mongoose shipping.
