My book 18 collectors' edition arrived today. It is a huge tomb - 550+ pages. It looks just like the Mongoose editions.
I can't wait to give it a run through. I can't remember being this excited about a LW book since the 80s! ;D

Nice one - I must admit with the CEs I have tended to flick to the bonus adventure first, just for the smell of 'new' they have. Even though I am currently bereft of gainful employment, and await my Mongoose mega-refund (tm?) like a starved dog awaiting the fat, juicy postman, I succumbed and ordered book 18 a couple of days back. Assuming pay-nazibastards-pal don't screw the payment like they usually do, I shall lurk in the undergrowth for the aroma of Lone Wolf in the delivery man's hand. Tastes a bit like ... fresh Kai! ...

HI guys. Finaly it´s done - LW18 is now available. Please - it may take some days to send all the pre-ordered books - so I hope you all can be a bit patient.

Mine's in too. Arrived Wednesday but I only picked it up from the post office depot this afternoon. First impressions are it looks really nice. I've not actually put it next to the rest of the Mongoose editions, but I'd also say it's a rock solid match. Same nice heavy paper, same layout on the cover and the spine.
Sadly I probably won't get time to read it this weekend, I'm busy as a proverbial bee, but I'm hopeful the interior will be just as professionally produced as the outside.
BTW. The excited kid in me compels me to tell you the bonus adventure is a huge 13mm thick, compared to the main sections at 17.5mm! I won't give away any spoilers but it's a quirky choice of main character. :-D

Just got mine today, the bonus adventure is sodding huge!
At first glance, the quality of the book is very nice. Hopefully there's nowhere near the errata listings needed for the mongoose books.

Hi Mantikore
Just a quick check - are we looking at 2-3 weeks for shipping time for those of us who didn't pre-order? Expect it will turn up tomorrow now!
Thanks

Just got mine today; happy dance of joy! Only two more books and, after that, I start getting books that were never released in the States.
Never actually played Book 18. Was in the middle of 17 when I found out that Book 20 would be the last I would ever see and, though I bought them, I lost heart in playing through them.

I've read as far as Bk20 (a few of those were 2nd hand). I've actually got copies of four of the eight published New Order books, but they aren't in order and I couldn't face starting them knowing it was impossible to finish off the collection (without spending a small fortune per book). Must admit, now we're getting close to the stuff I've not read, I'm actually getting quite a buzz. Roll on Mantikore.

I've posted the gist of this more than once, so sorry for repeating, but I once owned all 28 books, all grey-star, the book of the magnakai (erm magnamund companion ) and the 'world of ...' novels ... i sold some of these like a fool to fund the mongoose mega-deal. in hindsight: doh! though maybe, in erm 8 or so years time, a lovely book shelf of hardback collector editions will make up for it ...

Noooo! I didn't have enough confidence in Mongoose finishing the run to sell anything I'd got, but then, when it comes to books in general (any books), I'm one step away from starring in my own episode of "Hoarders". Thank the gods for eBooks and PDF or things would be getting serious by now. I never bought the "World of" series, but I really enjoyed the Greystar books too. I wouldn't say "No" to collectors reprints of those. Eight or so years... That's quite scary. I'll be fifty two-ish and it'll be thirty eight years from first reading "Flight From The Dark". That'll be one hell of a long road to walk. Maybe we can then talk JD into writing the " Banedon" set of adventure books (which I always wanted to see). It's not like I can see him wanting to retire at 65, besides, it's not like he'd get much peace with a mob outside his house chanting "We want game books!" day and night. ;D Course... if DWPearce or Shadowraven are bored and sitting about with nothing to write... ;D

Oh Gods of Aon, believe me. I have plenty to write! That said, I am actually rather hopeful that I will be able to add a full-length Dire book to that list soon.... ...just sayin'. -A

As predicted in my post the book did come the day after! But I wonder if it would had I not posted it?
First impressions - very nice! Massive book, good quality throughout. The map could use some of the colour "green" on it though. And the illustrations, whilst nice, are quite hard to make out in places (I can't understand what the image of Kai Monastery actually shows, might just be me). I haven't read the bonus adventure yet, but the main one looks good.
And yes I'd love to see more of Dire too!
