I have one. Here in my hands, I have a book. Bought from WH Smiths waaay back in 1987. I paid GBP1.95 for it. 17 years later, I find it while going through a bunch of my stuff and here's the good news: As a young lad, I never coloured any of the posters! The only thing I did colour, was the first page, but that doesn't really count. Anyways, here's a couple pictures: Here's the page that I coloured: Here's the centre page: I also have an A4 sized paper that Beaver Books (the publisher) gave out with the book for a colouring competition. The picture on it is just one of the posters inside the book.

Dai -
You are awesome! This is a find akin to the discovery of The Book of the Magnakai! Do you have a scanner as well?

I have one of these poster painting books too, but unlike you, I coloured most of it in (not very well!)

I'm sure the PA people would love to have scans of that for distribution, since Gary Chalk illustrated it. And that page you colored can be un-colorized in about 20 minutes, depending on a few factors I won't go into here.
KL, who equates this to buried treasure

Kailord,
You are right! HOORAY! Also, David Davis, is YOUR first page colored? (Dever would say coloured I think).

Annoyingly, when I upgraded to Windows XP last year, my scanner died cos there were never any XP drivers for it I didn't colour in my first page, no. The ones i coloured in were "Ogrons in Ambush", the siege of Holmguard (I think it was?) and some one with a wizard's conjuration going badly wrong.....

It is quite amazing that the dream of having ALL of Dever's works at one website is becoming a reality. I know there is lots more to do, but at least regarding the Lone Wolf books, these will soon be ready.
Has it ever occurred to anyone that Joe Dever might actually be waiting for us to finish this work? I mean, when it is all ready, can you imagine being rewarded as Joe Dever appears and presents the complete Book 29, 30, 31, and 32?
I mean, if we prove our worthiness, he may well believe that Internet Publication of these works is the way to go - he may, as we do, have a burning desire to see the Tales of the Kai told in full, immortal at last on the Internet itself.

I think Joe is most likely to "gift" the existing New Order series (books 21-28) to the fans if/when the existing Project Aon charter is completed. I'd like to see the Combat Heroes online as well; playing the solo adventure using a web browser would be great fun! And maybe someone conversant with network protocols could even get the two-player stuff to work . . . :-) Scanning in all those pictures would be a right royal nightmare, though. I have considered it in the past, but I've not been bothered to do so yet, and I don't see me doing it in the future, either. :-\

And yes, Joe Dever and the rest of the UK would say colour, colouring and coloured NS.

Hi,
I have the Poster painting book too and got it when I was old enough to know I was crap at colouring in so I didn't.
I also have the magnamund companion and the books from Flight from the dark to that last one where you get to kill that vampire guy... seaganoz or something. I also have the grey star series (1-4) and the novels from 1 through to the one set in the Danarg swamp. I also have those four graphic novels called the black baron or whatever.
I was wondering is there anywhere where you can see the full available set of all the books and their covers. My covers seem to be a bit different from some later editions and I was wondering if you would like to have a section on this website with all the different versions of the different covers.
For example I have just ordered Lone Wolf : Magic Of Magnamund, Lone Wolf : The Roleplaying Game, and Darklands from a local website after reading about them here and looking up amazon to read more about them. The local books seem to have different covers to the ones shown on Amazon.
(I am from New Zealand BTW and started reading LW in the early 80s).

There's that neat website about gamebooks. Here, check this page to see all the different covers for the 12 first gamebooks of the LW series: www.gamebooks.org/show_series_images.php?id=228Browse in the rest of that website and you should be able to check also the covers for the other series (except for the RPG books).

Thanks for that... you replied quicker than I expected. :-)
I seem to have the Sparrow editions for one, two, three, four and the beaver edition of five. (My edition of book four is not pictured in that link above) My editions of 6 to 12 are the beaver editions.
Having glanced at the thread about where everyone on this forum comes from I wonder if it would be worth setting up a part of this website to have scanned images of the covers of the books. Not as a brag thing, but to show the different covers of the different editions.
You could set a limit on the dpi and physical size of the images so they don't take up too much space but having nice large clear images of the covers would be nice.
Having played a few electronic versions of the books via this website the one thing I miss are all the pictures (and not being able to resize the window... but that has been mentioned a few times).

Gazguz,
Welcome to the board! I like your idea so much that I am going to change my icon to reflect the Lone Wolf Book I am currently working on.
COOL

A question regarding the covers:
Why aren't they included in the Project Aon editions of the book? I realise that there are copyright issues with the original artists, but you do have permission to use all of Gary Chalk's artwork. Is there any reason not to use the covers done by him?
