Hey guys, getting some good work done with GM series of late. In programming in the advanced disciplines, I have a couple of questions about typical interpretations for "Kai-surge" advanced usage:
LW could only use Kai-blast and Kai-ray against an enemy if that enemy were NOT immune to Kai-surge, yes? Or would the fact that it is an advanced form of Kai-surge mean that he actually could use it against *any* enemy?
When using a Kai-blast (2-18 pts of damage), it doesn't mention any kind of limit, the way that Kai-ray (15 pts damage) does. So, would it be fair to say that the player could choose to use Kai-blast on each round of combat?
Do the words " It cannot be used in conjunction with any other form of psychic attack" (attached to both kai-blast and kai-ray) mean that LW does not get the +8 bonus from Kai-surge? This almost seems a little silly, but I can't think of any other "psychic attack" that could be referred to... And if any enemy were strong enough that you'd want to use Kai-blast or Kai-ray against them, wouldn't it be extremely detrimental to take a -8 CS from not using Kai-surge? So, tell me what you guys think: is this used "on top" of the +8 CS bonus, or is "in place of" the +8 bonus? Should this be a gameplay rules option ("Stack Advanced Kai-surge"), or am I just barking up the wrong tree? Or maybe does it just mean that you can't do a kai-blast and Kai-ray on the same round of combat?
Since I'm going to have to deal with it sooner or later, I might as well do it sooner, and simply/streamline the process for later.
Thanks for any insights and help on this issue!
