A visit to the fabulous court of Xo-lin is disrupted when news of the invasion arrives at the venerable emperor's palace in Pensei. The evil Autarch Sejanoz of Bhanar has launched a sudden and devastating attack upon Xo-lin's ancient realm. With the tyrant's armies swarming across his borders, the aged Xo-lin is forced to flee his imperial palace and seek sanctuary in the distant city of Tazhan. In The Hunger of Sejanoz, your mission is to escort the aged emperor and his entourage safely across the Great Lissan Plain to Tazhan. Will you succeed in your perilous task … or will you and your charges fall victim to the merciless forces of the Autarch? www.projectaon.org/en/Main/TheHungerOfSejanozWe've published the last book in the Lone Wolf series! This comes 30 years after Flight from the Dark was first published in 1984 and nearly 15 years since the beginning of Project Aon in 1999. As always, we hope you enjoy. But we at Project Aon are not done yet. We will soon begin working on the rest of the Freeway Warrior series, Joe Dever's excellent post-apocalyptic gamebooks. For Sommerlund and the Kai! Indeed, a big fat thank you to PA! I own all the LW books, but thanks to PA I've discovered the World of Lone Wolf series, the Skull of Agarash, the Magnamund Companion, the Freeway Warriors series... Above all, I've met others fans of the LW universe from around the world. That's the magic of Internet and of a community like PA. And now, get back to work so that I can finally read the full Freeway Warrior series!

Congratulations on the milestone, and many, mnay thanks for all the hard work!
@whisperlion: Although it isn't the end, of course. It was just the end that suddenly happened when the books weren't going to be published anymore. There was a plan for 4 more, and that is what Joe is now doing. Book 29 has been bouncing around editing for quite a while now, but will be released out of order of the new reprints when it is ready, just like the 30 - 32 as I understand it.

beowuuf thanks for the info. I knew there were more books, which is why the ending to this one just surprised me. What was the original reason for them not being published? I assume Joe always had a plan and a number in mind for the LW series, and hopefully a true ending to it as well?

Back in 1998, there was a what we called "video games" that took away a lot of people from "gamebooks". A Random Number Table to decide the outcome of a combat? I have to count myself how much Endurance Points I lose? Can't save the game before I pick the wrong road? No animations? Gamebooks sucks!
There was also that old (the idea came out in the 60s) and at the same time new (it started getting popular with the people in the mid-90s) thing called the Internet that attracted people away from traditional hobbies. Publishers saw a fading interest in gamebooks and decide to concentrate on more lucratives businesses. Gamebooks died in the late 90s... for a while...
Internet had played a role in the fading interest in gamebooks but it also helped them to stay alive and finally get resurrected. Teens that loved gamebooks in their youth tried that old/new thing called Internet and share their passion with other fans around the world. Project Aon came alive in 1999: we fans gathered around this website to share our love of the series, read for the first time that book that we were never able to track down at a book store and discuss what could be modified. Old teens became young adults and we started working, making money, getting married and having kids. And then, we decided that we wanted to share our love for Lone Wolf (and gamebooks in general) with our descendants. Some of us started gamebooks company because they believed that kids of today (and kids of yesterday, the adults) wanted to (re)discover gamebooks and spread the word in a different way. And that's how Lone Wolf got back in print in different languages and that we just might read one day the real ending of the Lone Wolf saga.
Yeah, it's a long answer for a short question... It's just that I realized that it has been 10 years since I joined these forums, on May 19th, 2004. I just see how far I went, from a young student at the university not really knowing what life had for me to a 30-something guy with a house, a job and plans for a family. And it will mark the 20th anniversary of my first two LW gamebooks next Christmas.

I remember the day I found this website, way back in 2000. It was like finding a much-beloved and long-lost friend, seeing these familiar pages again, illustrated by the fantastic artists that had frightened me as a child, reading these books. I could almost smell the musty pages.
The internet has become an entirely different beast since then, but one thing stayed the same. ProjectAon is one of the only websites that I checked almost daily, almost every single day, for the past fourteen years straight. Granted, usually only two books came out per year, but that didn't deter me. I learned more about the world of Lone Wolf from the experiences of other readers than I could possibly have learned on my own (down with Kimah).
It is bittersweet to finally have the last book available to me. I've been a Lone Wolf fan since age 5; almost thirty years now. Most endings are a bit melancholy, but this one was worth the wait. I haven't even looked at the final book yet. Don't want the story to be over.
It's been an awesome ride, folks.
For Sommerlund and the Kai!

As a 40 year old, who first started in the USA on Pacer 1st editions (with color maps) and rediscovering Lone Wolf years later on Julian Egglestaff's web page, we've come a long way. Great Job, Project Aon.
