I have mad rolling skills. I have a trick where I can roll as many sixes in a row as I like. Really annoying during RISK. Actually, it's more an extension of my will. If you will the dice to roll certain numbers, and will hard enough, 9 out of 10 times it will work. Wow, maybe I should take Aikido, too! LongHairy, ah, just clear my mind and give into fate... coolness! I had a method I used to use with my 20-sider (it was numbered 0-9 twice). I would drop it onto the table with the "0" facing up... then after it had bounced, it almost never still showed the 0. Maybe I should go back to that instead of using a computerized dice roller!

Oh that's your problem. You can't will the computerized dice the same way. That's a program. Rolling dice is part of the large and mysterious ways of the world. I can't pull off my stunt as well with a computer.

Zipp, Computers (running programs) also belong to the 'large and mysterious' ways of the world. - Think about it.. It may be another leage but it's still the same game. Sol, but Zipp is right that influencing a computerized randomizer is much harder. (If possible at all..) I ALWAYS use my d10 (twenty-sided), too!

ha ha, now that would be crazier than even I am! What's scary is that this is the precise level of craziness the fate roll idea made me consider. The way I envisioned it, I could just let it run character after character on autopilot, and come out with some a posteriori statistics on the best path through each book, survival chances, and whatnot. Stick on some sort of progress display and it could even be fun to watch--hands up anyone who's run the Angband borg? No-one? Well never mind.

Behold Grey Zombie-Dot Evil! Mesmerising...
Well, this is probably somewhat off-topic in a Team Play, thread, but I'm continuing my progress through the books. And I can post it here, because... Sol and I are a TEAM! Go SOL!
Lone Wolf XII was a skilful yet frail warrior, with a CS of 18 and 22 EP. Despite his seeming unhealth, possibly due to chronic asthma, he made it all the way to Book 13, my best progress ever. A poor choice of Disciplines did him in, though. Without Grand Huntmastery, I was an easy target for those damned Vazhag! At least I destroyed the Virus and saved Magnamund!
But what's with those druids? Why does everything suddenly have a CS of 40+? Why do the druids bother faffing about with a virus when they are obviously a match for the entire standing army of Sommerlund?
Lone Wolf: 0, Durenese Gardeners: 2, Drakkarim: 1, Sommlending Roof-Tilers: 1, Parsion: 1, Bandit Sniper: 1, Stupid Itikar: 2 , Zakhan Kimah: 1 , Ice Barbarians: 1, Burrowcrawler: 1, Vazhag Archers: 1

Nathan,
We are a total team! Book 13 - YES! You have now finished the Magnakai series Cheat-Free! Awesome! You inspire me. I need still to roll up ten new Kai (the upcoming Omega Team) and join you once again in the Good Fight.
Yes, the CS values are VERY high in Book 13 and Book 14 also I think. It can be very hard to play without stacking or dual-weapons. In fact, without those "edges" you will probably need lots of Alether and will still fight most fights at, like, a -4 or -6. Ouch! What can you do? I guess Magnakai Curing helps since you can get an automatic 20 EP boost, but it is still very hard!
Re: Grand Huntmastery - this seems to be possibly the best discipline in the Grand Master series. I believe it gave bonuses of some kind or another in Books 13-17, and of course in Book 13...
SPOILER: it helps protect against instant death if you also have Assimilance.
I also like Grand WeaponMastery - how can you NOT take those 5 extra CS points? Even for a maxed-out Lone Wolf, it is dearly needed.
BOOK 13! GO NATHAN! YOU ARE AWESOME!

Hey Sol, are you still hanging around? How goes the team play? I'm guessing from lack of updates that you haven't begun yet.
