[quote author=" Black Cat" source="/post/42736/thread" I'm just speechless... [/quote] Wow, yes, I am completely speechless as well. I'm so sorry? I'm so sad? He was a good man and so creative and generous ? How will we know the ending to what he started ? How will we keep Lone Wolf alive ? Who will mourn for Joe ? How can I ever repay the man who taught me that reading and learning can combine creativity and be fun, when I was a youth? So many mixed emotions all at once, such a sad day. Rest in peace, Mr. Dever.

How will we know the ending to what he started ? How will we keep Lone Wolf alive ? Who will mourn for Joe ? Well, Ben Dever, his son, posted a message on the Facebook page of his father that answers those questions:

I mostly lurk in these forums. I just wanted to say ive been following Joe Dever since the beginning of the Mongoose Publishing reprint efforts. He is a great and talented guy. Earlier this year I reached out to him on Facebook and he helped me fill a hole in my collection with an autographed copy from his own private stash. He is/was a real class act. Its a terrible loss.

Extremely sad....words fail me.
The fact that this news made it into the Guardian shows the impact that he had outside of just this community.
It is good to see that his son is willing to continue his legacy and finish the series.

I'm sad Joe Dever never got to see his life work come to a movie/film, I'm sure it will happen in the future. My thoughts are with his family.

Just learned the awful news as well. I'm devastated. Just when I started reading Flight from the Dark again.
Rest in peace. You will be missed.

Please excuse the profanity, but [fudge] you 2016 ... I had a horrible feeling for a while now that Joe was ill. I'm really quite upset by this. In many ways a parallel to David Bowie; thinking of his fans and working until the end. Such sad news, and obviously terrible for his family. Sixty is no age - he should have had many more years. It feels a little like another part of my childhood has died. I'm rambling - just very saddened by this.

Long Live Lone Wolf! For Joe, for Sommerlund and the Kai!

To paraphrase Spider Jerusalem:

This was the last straw.

It sounds he was still very involved right up until his passing in regards to Lone Wolf and the Kai. With that, I think perhaps the best thing would to have the last things he wrote published perhaps, or the notes published, as it's own thing for the fans.
Then, if the family wishes, they could do something more, if it is to their benefit or fulfills Mr. Dever's wishes.
