I wanted to share with fellow Kai fans the experience I've had trying to purchase Storms Of Chai. Very excited to find the book is finally available, and disappointed it is not on Amazon, I paid for it on www.mapmagnamund.com/id72.html . I did a bit of research first to check the site is legit, and was encouraged to read positive comments on Project Aon forums from others who had ordered the book from there. That was three of four months ago, and I still have not received the book, nor had my money back. I emailed the given gmail address two or three times but never received a reply. I subsequently realised that I had placed my order shortly before Joe Dever passed on, and of course I was mortified and very respectful for the family's loss. Lone Wolf still holds a special place in my heart, a tribute to Joe's inspirational writing. I did have some contact on Facebook with someone who said they are conducting Joe's financial affairs, but after I answered their question about which link I had placed my order on, I never received a reply. That was in 2016. I see that the web page is still live, and still contains paypal buttons so presumably accepts payments still, but it may well that other Lone Wolf fans may miss out like I did. So this is a friendly warning to fellow fans that the site may well be abandoned now, so maybe avoid placing an order until someone updates it. I have been doubly unlucky, because I was one of the earliest subscribers to the original Mongoose megadeal, so I have now paid twice for the Storms Of Chai, but never received a copy. It is the most expensive book I never got to read!! I fear I may well never receive the megadeal books 23-28 either, but I keep my fingers crossed.

With all that has transpired and other matters to attend to, fulfilling orders is probably not the highest of priorities for the Dever family at the moment. I agree it is unfortunate that this results in a delay in you getting your book. I think it would be reasonable to ask for a reduction in price due to the delay.
My advice would be to continue contacting them respectfully via email and Facebook. You do have a right to know a timeline for when you will receive the book, due to them having accepted your payment. They should at least be able to provide that information for you, or else refund your money in full if they are unable to fulfill orders anytime soon.
If anything, Joe's death may result in an increase an orders, both due to a desire to financially support the family as well as the publicity it has received being likely to further interest in his work. So I agree that you are very unlikely to be the only one with this predicament.
This is just me opining as an outside observer. Hopefully someone who has been in greater contact with the family can provide more details/insight.

Lone Wolf still holds a special place in my heart, a tribute to Joe's inspirational writing. The thing is www.mapmagnamund.com was managed by Joe himself. The email address you have was probably monitored by him too. At the time of his death, at the end of November, he was in the hospital since the end of the preceding month. So, yeah, he wasn't available to answer your email or fulfill your order. Ben Devere, his son, will take over as the publisher of Joe's work. He'll be working with Vincent Lazzari, of the French editor Scriptarium, to publish the remaining books (23-28, 30-32). www.mapmagnamund.com will probably be updated eventually to become the only website where you'll be able to buy Lone Wolf gamebooks. But until this happens, you'll have to be patient. It doesn't mean that you cannot contact them on Facebook for an update on when they do expect to start the ball rolling once again. You did not ask for a refund? When Joe took over the publication of his books (which was before he published The Storms of Chai), the Mega-Deal was declared void. I did ask for a refund from Mongoose and I got it. I used part of that money to buy book 29 (and I'm keeping the rest to buy the remaining books).

Thanks Nym and Black Cat. The last thing I want to do is hassle the family, but I will try contacting them again via facebook. Respectfully, of course. Goes without saying.
Regarding the megadeal, Mongoose offered me a choice between a refund, or continuing to receive the books as they were released by Mantikore. (Not sure if I spelled that correctly). They indicated it would be up to and including book 28, but not including 29-32. I might still have that old email somewhere. I opted to continue with the books rather than a refund, and was receiving the books up to and including 22, Buccaneers of Shadaki.

Yes, me too I continued with the Mega-Deal when Mantikore got the rights from Mongoose. But after that, when Mantikore lost the rights to Holmgard Press (Joe's own imprint), I've asked for a refund from Mongoose because the Mega-Deal became void at that moment. I was able to get a refund for the remaining gamebooks they didn't delivered (23 to 32).

I seem to have the same problem as darkwolf. I didn't realise that Joe had published book 29 until I read of his passing. I ordered the book late November and have also sent emails to the address given on the web site to find out where my order is but have not had a response. I fully understand that this is no where near a priority to Joe's family so I will keep my fingers crossed that my order will be fulfilled.
Edit
I had an email from Ben Dever yesterday. He apologised for the delay (understandable) and that it has taken him some time to 'unravel the web of responsibilitys' when it comes to the Map of Magnamund web page ordering.
Edit
Ben came through for me. I received my copy of Storms of Chai this week. Luckily for me he found a copy that was signed by Joe and dedicated.

As we mark the first anniversary of Joe's death, his son Ben reminds us that he only has about 100 copies of 'The Storms of Chai' left. Although he claims to be working on reprinting the whole series, we still don't know when (and even if) it will actually be republished. So, here's your last chance to order the original version of book 29: link

Hello
I've only just come across the LW books, which is odd as I have loved this genre, but assumed there were no other real alternatives to Fighting Fantasy. I have acquired and really enjoyed the first 21 books and they were relatively easy to come by on ebay/amazon. However, from book 21 onwards, although they are still available, the prices suddenly rocket to hundreds of pounds - no chance! However, on looking for The Storms of Chai on Google, I found this site and the link to Magnamund. I went there and found the book still available at £19.99 (I found it on ebay for £89.99). I paid via paypal, but got no confirmation of order or anything (we are spoilt these days with instant confirmations for anything you buy on line), so after a few days I sent the website a reminder, asking when I could expect the book. However, I needn't have worried as it arrived the very next day (within a week of having ordered it) and it looks great. So I can confirm it is still very ,much available, brand new, at a great price - don't waste your money on ebay.
I really want to read them all in order, but still need numbers 22 - 28 - anyone know where they could be obtained without spending £500 on each!
Thanks

i am afraid not, save your money for future releases or current related projects. My advice is to play them online here on Project Aon and wait for this fall, book 30 will be published and probably (hopefully) we will get also some news about future reprints. There are other interesting projects right now, have you seen the amazing Sommerlund city maps kickstarter? Or the spin-off Grey Star, Autumn Snow?

Thanks dakomyd, I thought not. I didn't know you could play them on line, so will definitely give it a go. I hope they do reprint these final few at a reasonable price though.
I do love a map too (I loved that one of the whole continent that honza posted, I haven't seen that before, nit even in the Companion, where it was split in two, and the detail was lacking) , so will check those out. It seems there's a whole host of interesting stuff on here too that I have yet to read.

You don't have to, but it's to your benefit to play through earlier books to garner the additional GM Skills and CS/EP bonuses. Most of the fights in the books are tough!
My book took about 3 1/2 weeks to arrive in the United States, but it came and it's lovely. Hopefully they release Dead in the Deep under the same availability!

For some reasons, book 22 is more expensive than 23 ad 24. I wonder why?
