Has the Project Aon staff considered starting a Patreon?
Is there any interest in the community for a PA Patreon?
What sort of goals would be offered on a hypothetical PA Patreon page?
I'd like to hear both the staff and the community's thoughts.

Our mission is to publish the material covered by the Project Aon License. By definition, we cannot charge anyone for any of this material. So, my short answer is "no".
(We do have one expense that needs to be covered: The web hosting costs. From what I know, the contribution mechanisms we have in place work OK.)

Almost certainly a Patreon for the staff or even for any of the app developers, would *not* be in violation of the Project Aon license. If donation-based or "opt-in" servies are a problem, then PA should deal with any of the apps which currently offer donation links, or in-game purchases.
It's true that a Patreon might not be as well-suited for PA, if there were no rewards or goal thresholds. Still, it would be a service that many people are already used to, and you can easily set up monthly donations, unlike with PayPal.

Sorry for not being entirely clear in my OP. I've read the document in its entirety.
I was just wondering if it's been considered before. I feel like there's a large enough audience that are aware of Patreon that it may help to fulfil some goals, such as the costs associated with bandwidth and upkeep, and to keep PA ad-free. It might also help discovery by introducing Patreon users to the LW universe.
As UrQuan points out- it could also be used as a means to finance development of PA tools and other side projects not directly connected to licensed materials.
