Hi UrQuan, I have been following Seventh Sense and a forum for a few years now, and I am very happy to have seen you picking up again the software; thank you for your perseverance and passion!

Bug Report: Book 22, section 105: after the fight you have to retrieve your Kai Weapon, the retrieve option is colored red and clickable but there is no weapon in the "Lost item" section, can't progress. Hardcore Mode seems broken, at least in the Kai books. It now allows (and forces) you to take additional disciplines above the starting five in each book. I think it worked as intended in the NO books, at least in the previous patch. Fixed. Thanks for the bug reports. The Hardcore Mode reverting to By The Book rules still exists.

Fixed. Thanks for the bug reports. The Hardcore Mode reverting to By The Book rules still exists. Is it reverting when you try to start a campaign? Then it's intended. You may only start a Hardcore campaign on Book 1.

It still reverts when transitioning from Book 1 to Book 2.

Some general comments / progress report:
I have done more work still on the automated book processing. To be sure it is clunky to do just in pure C++ (parsing the html files is hard enough), but even so, Dave had perhaps underestimated the amount of automation that was possible. Would have been a big help for him to have all the processing that exists now since the beginning. Of course I made the exact same mistake by doing the New Order series first, only then working on this! Making the awards for a book take much longer than the book itself now for sure. You have to stop and think so much comparatively. It is a more iterative process.
As mentioned before, I'm waiting on the next Project Aon re-release before even looking at the Grey Star books any further. I should post on the mailing list to see if someone can pull some strings to expediate that.
Actually, I have one question: To the people who play with Custom Gameplay Rules, what rules do you use? Post here or PM me.

Great to hear that the automation process is so helpful and thanks for the new book!
I often play with custom rules when not aiming for awards. I use the following:
- Initial stats: Prodigy, lowered to whatever I want for the challenge - weapon rules: Prodigy, I like the diverse bonuses on a lot of weapons and I like the SS nerf - intelligent damage and autoheal: always on - always allow potions: no - special items limit: limited to 12, but it doesn't matter much either way I think - limited to only 5 disciplines: on most runs yes, I like having to choose my disciplines instead of getting them all eventually. Especially now that new hardcore is so different, this is my only option to normally play with limited disciplines. - alternate lore-circle bonus: on most runs yes, I like the flexibility of not having to choose certain disciplines just for the circle bonus. also cirle bonus really doesn't work with limited disciplines (unless you want the challenge) - provide storage in all books: always off - allow rnt guiding: always off - importing of special items to GM: varies depending on the nature of my run, usually strict

Another Hardcore update. I don't want to sell myself too short with Hardcore in general; there are some really great new features! It is hard to give a summary of changes without spoiling the surprise, but let's say, some new routes might be possible, and there are the Hardcore-exclusive items of course. Actually, to help players along just a little bit (since it's not too easy to explore the books with low stats and without Healing), I have created a summary of the new items found so far, which I will keep updated in the New Hardcore thread. I have the automatic HoF submission code set up so I see when one is discovered now. That code has already provided useful analytics on which books and game modes people are actually playing, based on which I'm slowly changing my mind on a few of things. I am considering a slight re-work of the Game Rules system, but we'll see. There is something relatively big planned for Hardcore or otherwise, in terms of new content, but I will keep in the tradition of not posting about things until they are done. (download)

Hi,
I'm happy for the new Seventh Sense S, but for me it crash every time I resume or start a new campaign. ( just after the By-the-book, or Prodigy, etc... at the loading with the selected cover)
I try it with 1.23.x and 1.24.1-3, same result.
I try all kind of compatibility option on the .exe, as well a changing the display option in Seventh Sense before starting a campaign, nothing work.
I installed and try the old 1.17.0, same result, so it's apparently not something UrQuan introduced.
I'm a returning player and I remember that I had a working Seventh Sense 1.17 (Stand-alone, extracted from a zip, not from a installer) in my download folder. This version is still working fine. and I don't know why.
Do any of you know why?
Thanks,
JF

Will books 18 on work with version 1.17.0 or do you need to patch to the newer version?

Will books 18 on work with version 1.17.0 or do you need to patch to the newer version? They won't work. You will need to play with my branch. Well, at some point we will move to an official Seventh Sense release. Actually, one question. Does downloading work now in 1.24.3 after you installed vanilla Seventh Sense?

No, I have installed .3 but still gives me the download error. Try this: drive.google.com/open?id=1PsIfpAyfyHzfwqCm8O8rCDgzcxR0d_mwYou have to run the executable as admin. Try downloading, then there should be an stdout.txt and stderr.txt in the program directory. PM me or copy-paste their contents here.

I'm a new player of the Lone Wolf books and downloaded the debug version you posted a link to earlier in the thread. Have got through book 1 and just starting book 2. It's fantastic! Thanks for further developing the software. Much appreciated.
