I'm finishing the game (on android) and I want to share some info about weapons, items and strategy.
I have to admit that I had given up on this game very soon, because I could not even defeat the Giaks ... but once you get familiar with the combat turns and strategy, everything is easier and the story is really good (placed after book 2 and before book 5).
I started with Normal difficulty and these traits:
Intelligence "You carefully assess the details of any situation before attempting to overcome an obstacle"
Axe "Axes are balanced weapons regarding damage and speed"
Disciplines:
Survival "Survival combines the skills pf master tracker, hunter and explorer"
Mindblast/Mindshield "Mindblast and Mindshield transform your mind into a powerful psychic weapon and psionic shield"
Weaponskill "You are able to perform extraordinary martial feats due to your mastery of Weaponskill"
Sixth Sense "Your Sixth Sense enhances your natural intuition, helping you to identify and counter unseen dangers"
for now, I start with Weaponskill: at the cost of 700 Kai, my melee attack inflict increased damage and require no endurance to be executed.
Once the three attacks have been upgraded (quick: Additional damage, heavy: lower cool down, combined: lower endurance cost), the axe mastery is unlocked: greater chance to cause hemorrhage when you hit an enemy;
During the game, winning the fights or dealing with the merchant I found 5 different types of axes; "Verdictor" found only near the end of the third act if I remember correctly, and the strongest "Sundera" in the tower of V'taag (save gold and crafting material for it!)
Each Axe can be upgraded 3 times with crafting materials @ the Merchant, also can be damaged during fights, reducing their durability and fixed always @ the Merchant; All the Axes can be equipped in the off-hand.
These are Axes' stats, fully upgraded:
i always keep at least 2 or 3 axes in my backpack; 2 of them always fully upgraded, because it may happen that they can be damaged during fights, this way you can replace them very quickly; or you need to improve your damage during a fight and use 2 axes (90% of the battles i use 2 axes).
Armor, fully upgraded:
Shields, all fully upgraded except Sheld, that has base stats:
