I was cleaning out my parents' house at the weekend and stumbled across a 'spare' copy of The Buccaneers of Shadaki (Red Fox not Mongoose). I'd picked it up at a car boot sale or ebay or something - I missed the initial publication and was desperate to read it.
It's in a bad way; ex-library, slightly ripped cover, tippex on the action charts, swearword and what I believe is a small [thingy] on the dedication page. The top of the book is stamped with a library stamp and another on one of the first pages. Once you're past the first few pages, it's generally fine.
I picked up a better copy a while later at great expense, but had completely forgotten about this one. I don't need it and figure someone else might like it - and it's definitely something 'to be read' rather than 'a collector's item' because it's not been loved at all. It's a little fragile, but not really falling apart.
I know from a look online that these things can be ridiculously expensive, but was thinking about some kind of blind auction for it - I'd really like it to go to someone who wants to read it, rather than just seeing it on eBay again in six months time. Any interest from this forum directly?
