Can you play Lone Wolf New Order without having completed the previous Grand Master series? I haven't played the last three books in that series yet, but don't want the events spoiled by references to them in New Order.

Well, since book 21 and 22 are directly linked storywise to book 20, if you don't want to spoil the story of that book, you'll have to avoid playing books 21 to 23 (since the story of book 23 starts just as you complete the story of book 22). Otherwise, you don't have to worry about playing the NO series without completing the GM series since you play as a different character with new stats.

I would play through 19 and 20 before starting the New Order series, although I'm not sure how feasible it is getting a fresh character through those two.

Book 20 is nearly impossible with a fresh start character. Only having 4 disciplines to choose from and not having an advanced rank hurts a lot, as well as the lack of the Healing discipline and healing potions. 19 is probably doable, but not easily. 18 would also be quite a challenge for a new character.

OK, thanks for the advice. I guess I should finish the GM series first.
Next question: I've been using Lone Wolf Saga app to play the series to date (which doesn't have books 18,19,20). Is there another Lone Wolf app that does include those three books, and also allows you to define your character (so that I can manually set it up to be as I have it at the end of book 17 in Lone Wolf Saga)?

As far as mobile stuff goes, I don't think so. Kai Chronicles only goes up to 12.
You may have to pen/paper it or use something like PA's statskeeper or BIAC (go all the way to the bottom of book 18's page on PA) for now. Statskeeper requires an old version of flash player, which I don't really recommend (at least the one included with Chrome isn't working), but I was using BIAC for route testing last year and it seems to function correctly, including saves/loads. This was on PC, I haven't tested it on mobile.
If you have a PC, you can use UrQuan's fork of Seventh Sense ("Seventh Sense S") as it does have 18-20, but there's no way to import or define a character, you'd need to start from an earlier point and work your way up.

This great app is in hiatus. At the present there are no apps for playing the books 18, 19 and 20. From lore point of view, you should really read books 18-20, before starting book LW21. GM New Order adventures start where book 20 ends: there are huge spoilers at beginning of book 21. You can read the books online --> Project Aon website: www.projectaon.org/en/Main/BooksBook 18 (Dawn of Dragons) continues the story of book 17 (Deathlord of Ixia). Books 19 (Wolf's Bane) and 20 (The Curse of Naar) should be read together. Wolf's Bane is not so great... the problem is that The Curse of Naar is my favourite by far. X-D
