So how would you rank the Lone Wolf series? For myself, from best to worst I would say:
Magnakai (7 - 12) Kai (1 - 5) Grandmaster (13 - 20) World (Grey Star 1 - 4) New Order (21 - 28)
Finale (29 - 32) is shaping up to be contender for one of the higher spots, but will it go all the way to the top? I hear good things about Dead in the Deep and Storms was a very good start. Time will (hopefully) tell.

Hmmm, for me it probably would be similar to
Magnakai Kai World New Order Grandmaster

Kai Magnakai Grand Master New Order
Yes I think the series gets worse as it goes on.
I always felt books 1-12 had the best ongoing story arc in avenging the First Order and recovering the lost knowledge needed to found the New Order.
The roadblock fight at the end of Book 9 and linear adventures in Books 11 & 12 rank it behind the Kai series overall (and the quests for the Lorestones do start getting a bit samey, even if I like how the Darklord threat grows steadily in the background - compared to the slightly more varied objectives in the Kai series).
Grand Master series and New Order series both feel disjointed compared to the previous 2 series - both suffer from the lack of looming Darklord threat and have some very linear books mixed in.
New Order series is better balanced but more linear - and Book 28 was a very poor ending to the original series.
The last 4 Books (29-32) could shake things up here quite a bit (& possibly an extended 28?) so this isn't final by any means.
But currently I class 29-32 as a separate series based on the massive time jump both in universe and in real life publishing time - they also seem to have a pretty standalone story arc of their own.
With 2 books still to go I'd rank these 4 books 3rd (but a very close 3rd) - so would be:
Kai Magnakai Last 4 Grand Master New Order
With potential for the Last 4 to move up or down as more get published.
If mixed in with rest of the New Order I'd currently have it tied with Grand Master in 4th but I strongly expect the next 2 books to lift the whole series above.
I haven't read World enough (or recently enough) to be able to list.
So might post here again after more re-reading.

I wanted to rank Book 7 ahead of Book 8 but I couldn't because I couldn't accept the fact that my backpack has to be taken away from me at the end of the adventure!! Jetty!!!
