Why did Lone Wolf know what he have to do with the psychic Ring seconds before the fight with Zakhan Kimah? When he finds the ring in the underground he hasn´t any idea of the skills of this ring. And what do you think: Perhaps the ghoul with the ring was the son of Maghana - the master of the thiefs. And Maghana wants the ring back. After the end of the book it could be wise for Lone Wolf to return the ring to Maghana. The timeline between the books 9 and 10 tells us that Lone Wolf stays in Tahou half a year. Perhaps he bribes the thief with the sacks of silver from book 8 to keep the ring.

For your understanding....(book 9)
After the vote of the senate they grant you the access to the Cauldron or they forbid your entry and try to arrest you. If you have to flee from the senate you are helped by Sogh who brings you to Maghana, the Guildmaster of the thieves. He will show you a shaft to Zaarys but only if you agree to bring him the ring of his lost son Aiebek.

Does Maghana even know that Lone Wolf has the ring? There's a way to beat this book without taking the Psychic Ring. There's also the possibility that he died during the siege of the city, or that he fled far away. In the event that he is still in Tahou and that Lone Wolf has the ring, do you think he is going to take the risk to challenge the guy that killed the powerful Kimah? I personnally think not.

Even if Maghana doesn't go up to Lone Wolf and demand the ring (assuming it's the right one), I do think Lone Wolf would do the honorable thing and hold up his end of the bargain.

Bah! Lone Wolf is ME! And I'd never give that punk Maghana back his Psychic Ring, so neither would Lone-Wolf-Me!

Perhaps I should put the ring in an envelope and send it to Maghana. No - I think that the Kai-Lords was teached honour, honesty and helpfulness and if Lone Wolf has agreed to bring Maghana the ring he would give it to him after the end of the book. And what´s about if this ring isn´t the right one. Perhaps Lone Wolf would nevertheless give something special to Maghana.

Mahney, killing things and taking their stuff since 1988 Yeah - you can play Lone Wolf like a good guy or like a bad boy. I would prefer the Ranger-Paladin mix with a little pinch of a warrior. But you can play Lone Wolf like a greedy nouveau richman. Perhaps like the situation in book 4 where he set up camp in the shelter of a temple. There he can rob some poor monks.

Nathan P. Mahney, killing things and taking their stuff since 1988 Brings back memories of the virtue system at work in Ultima VII. Having darted into some poor peon's hut and rooted through his meagre possessions for the umpteenth time, Dupre would flounce off protesting at such criminality. Unless, of course, you promised never to do it again. Oooh, dastardly punishment!

Was that in Quest of the Avatar? Wow, never knew you could do that! What a fun game that was, except for all the money you had to save up to spend in the disappearing towns!

Giving Alton the Ticket to Port Bax counts as cheese of the highest order. And since the Kai are TAUGHT truth, honour etc., if LW had the ring and could remember why he had the ring, then I don't see why he wouldn't at least try to take it back. NS.

Yeah, but it's in canon that Lone Wolf was an inattentive student. So maybe he was just "not listening" during all of those truth, honour and the Sommlending Way tutorials? That's my justification for countless blood-soaked rampages through Gorn Cove, anyhow.

And remember... YOU are Lone Wolf. YOU can choose to be an inscrutable bastard. YOU can prevent forest fires.
