This is probably a lie, but Darkash actually made a fair bit of progress, even getting past the Chaos Master! Hey, I resent that! It's all real, I did everything in there, including a play by play of my deaths. It's all a matter of good rolls and good routes. I could give a play by play of my routes (I guess), if anyone is interested.

On the subject of good routes, I outlined the reason for getting Psi-screen in Book 7 in the 'First 3 Magnakai Disciplines' thread - did you get a chance to check it out?

Yeah...you are so brave to continue with rubbish stats. Not so much brave as foolhardy. It's my chance to open evil tombs in the Graveyard of the Ancients, to get arrested in Tahou, or to find a way to cross the Isle of Ghosts, and all without fear of losing a viable character. It's the search for ever more entertaning deaths! (The best Lone Wolf death evar is without a doubt the dwarf in the mine in Book 8.)

I think he meant that the statements made in Kai Wisdom were a lie! Yeah, that's exactly what I meant! I wrote that last post in a hurry and didn't spot the double meaning. But I think you are fully aware of that!

On the subject of good routes, I outlined the reason for getting Psi-screen in Book 7 in the 'First 3 Magnakai Disciplines' thread - did you get a chance to check it out? Matter of fact, I did get a chance to do so. You have a large point that is very well recieved. I have thought about it, and checked in the books, and an alternate choice of Psi-Surge, Divination, and Nexus, plus Psi-Screen in book 7, would not be a bad move. Let me explain my reasoning: There are five diciplines available by book 8. Of those, four must be those for the Lore-circle of Spirit. The fifth is almost certainly best suited for Weaponmastery. Originally, I got Weaponmastery in book 6, along with Nexus and Psi-Surge. Divination came next, followed by Psi-Screen. Weaponmastery makes for some good bow bonuses, as well as a plus in book 7 when you are seperated from the Sommerswerd. However, if Spirit is achieved in book 7, then you get a plus three bonus anyway. You need to have Psi-Surge and Psi-screen in book 7 for your route to work. Divination is a must for easy access to land in book 7, and avoiding a crossbow bolt later on. Nexus is not only good for avoiding END loss in book 6, but most importantly, it is a guaranteed way to get the Bronin Warhammer, which is my favorite "normal" weapon in the series. However, it is not necessary in my route. (Well, it is good to have in LoV if you don't bring the Sommerswerd.) So another alternate route would be Weaponmastery, Divination, and Psi-Surge, with Psi-Screen and Nexus following. Both of these routes would work, although I am leaing towards the Spirit in book 7 one, due to the added three END points. Thoughts? (After checking the thread again, I see that this is exactly what you said. If it wasn't for that annoying invisible bridge guy in 7, I would like my original route more, but he is just enough to make me want to change my route to yours.)

Or Book 16 Then again, considering that this IS a Lone Wolf site, chances are that LoV is the same as TLoV NS.

Darkash, I've posted my response in the original thread, just to keep things together and stop this one going too far off-topic!

As mentioned by others, I usually consider the end of the book the 'save' point. If I die in a book, the second time through I give myself a 'save point' that I will start at if I die a second time or more. This way I can start again after completing some significant part of the book without going back to the beginning

When I got a new book I normally continued with my main character. If I died then I started the whole series from the start with the same character to do it again... boy I played Fire on the Water a lot!!!
Once I had completed the new game book as my main character I recorded the stats for when I got the next book and then just played it normally and explored it. Often I would also use starting the series again as an opportunity to try different options to explore further the other books.

Ahem....you guys might consider me cheating, well..urm...I do cheat in the computer games..thank you very much... But I always save my game at any point of time ;D. This comes in handy with the release of statskeeper and lone wolf action chart. I played using the fact that this is millenium edition so I play the current gaming concept, i.e. having save points. ;D So, back to the question: how do I deal with death? Just load the game, that's all!

A few times I just played them in God-mode, as in unlimited Endurance, auto-winning fights etc., just to read the story. After all, they're great for story as well as interaction!
