Hey guys,
Heres another topic for discussion. If Lone Wolf could have went on. Where do you think it would have been cool for it to go? Book wise, media wise..etc.
Heres some thoughts i've had:
1. Ages of Lone Wolf- A book series where you get to play in the past ages of magnamund. You could play Sun Eagle! King Kian! Or other, unknown of yet great heroes of magnamund!
2. A over sized book of the beautiful maps of Lone Wolf. Maybe a boxed set with fold out maps on Parchment like the Lord of the rings maps that recently came out. For some reason i loved looking at all the maps in the books. I'm a cartography enthusiast.
3. A lone wolf computer game! It would be a great game, kind of like Diablo, or Neverwinter nights.
4. Some cool paintings inspired by lone wolf! I'd love to see a cool pic of lone wolf, or sun eagle, or how cool would it be to see pics of the darklords? or Agarash the damned?!
Lets hear your guys ideas.

I remember reading Lord Of The Rings (about 20 years ago now) and they did in fact have maps in the back. I can't remember what sort of paper it was at the time but everything on the map was done in red.

I'm sure I also saw this ages ago. I know they did spin off games for Fighting Fantasy (Warlock of Firetop Mountain / Deathtrap Dungeon) but they didn't do anything but share the same name which was disappointing.

In a 1998 interview (found on http://www.magnamund.org) Joe mentioned that he would like to write a short series of gamebooks (probably four titles) about Banedon and the Brotherhood of the Crystal Star. Another item on his wishlist--the official RPG--is about to be released, so maybe that's a start. I'd love to see a Lone Wolf computer game in the NWN styleee--as someone mentioned in another thread, the two Lone Wolf mods for NWN by a guy called Altaris are extremely good. To follow Lone Wolf right from joining the Kai Monastery through to completing the Magnakai Quest would be superb!!

While we're talking about artwork, if anyone has anything remotely related to Lone Wolf art-wise, please let me know. I'd like to open up the Gallery section of my site, but I don't have much to put in it yet. About all I have is my colorized glorified version of the Sommerswerd: www.shirrok.com/LoneWolf/gallery/Sommerswerd.jpgI'm working on colorizing some of the illustrations from the books, too. In time, I'll have them in there, too. KL

WOW! That's really cool. Could I use that as my avatar symbol? If I can figure out how to do that. Nice website by the way, but if you have plans for that pic, I don't want to "steal" it without your permission.

Haha, sure, but that's precisely the reason I'm not using it for my avatar. It kept on getting squashed, so I opted for the wolfhead that's in the moon of my main page logo.
Now that people are starting to go to my site, I'm actually going to update it and remove some things, add other things, etc.

There were several Lone Wolf computer games released for the Spectrum ZX I think. It would be way cool though to get a new and updated one released. Who knows, if Mongoose's RPG does well, it may be a possibility.

Lots of people think Lone Wolf's adventures are over now that he is a Supreme Master, but I wonder if more stories could be written... I say why not?
Idea: Would later LW books (starring LW) be as interesting if you did not gain new disciplines? Or is that the real charm of the LW Saga?

Would later LW books (starring LW) be as interesting if you did not gain new disciplines? Or is that the real charm of the LW Saga? I think if you take away the progression aspect of the gamebook, then they would work better as novels. And I'm sure that should Joe Dever engage a talented and disciplined author (outspaced glares in a certain nameless author's direction) the results could be eminently readable. But I don't feel they would work well as gamebooks, no.

I agree that the progression, the sense, so be it, of leveling up, is essential to the books. However, I feel that a good plot was what kept me playing Lone Wolf, not neccesarily the promise of different skills. I also think that you can put progression in the books without making that progression take shape in the kai skills.

I always thought that it would have been cool to have just one more adventure featuring LW. If you had played all the other books of the GM series, then you could be playing LW as a Supreme Grand Master in that new book.

I think we will never have illustrations of Lone Wolf, because the player is Lone Wolf. But I've always desired to see the official Kai uniforms: for a Kai traveler, for a Kai warrior, for a Kai knight, ... ... and for each of the ranks in Kai advancement, from Initiate to Supreme Grand Master. I think this would need an entire team of stylists...

In the graphic novel, The Skull of Agarash, you see Lone Wolf's face and you can see a lot of different uniforms used by the Kai Lords. You'll have to wait for the publication of it online to see it. Also, in book 20, there's an illustration of Shamath looking at a small pool of water where Lone Wolf's face appears. It's definitely different from the one you see in the graphic novel.
