Not a false report, and not a problem either. :-p I've added it to the errata page for future reference.

From book 5 section 368: The air is alive with the sound of pounding feet, for the Grand Palace is now on full alert. Both the Drakkarim and a palace guard are bent on finding you; their lives will be forfeit if they fail. This is debatable but shouldn't that be "and the palace guard are bent on finding you"? As further evidence the alternative to section 368 is section 252 where it says: The air is filled with the sound of pounding feet, for the palace guard are on full alert; together with the Drakkarim, they are now bent on finding and killing you as quickly as possible.

Actually, it's not debatable at all--it's an OCR typo! I've fixed this in the source file and it will be fixed online the next time we re-release Book 5.
Thanks for pointing this out. If you spot any other problems, please let us know.
For Sommerlund and the Kai!

Normally the word "Meal" is capitalised, however in Book 3 Section 8 it isn't. I realise that book 3 is a bit different since you don't have to eat meals from your backpack while you have your sledge but see for example Section 331 where a meal from your sledge *is* capitalised. So it seems like there is some inconsistency there.

*Whistles*!
Good catch, Pike. After a bit more research and a go-ahead, your innocuous comment has led, directly or indirectly, to the following changes being committed to the source xml of Book 3:
(er) 21, 43, 112, 117, 121, 212, 226, 331: Meal -> meal [Pike: Normally the word "Meal" is capitalised, however in Book 3 Section 8 it isn't. I realise that book 3 is a bit different since you don't have to eat meals from your backpack while you have your sledge but see for example Section 331 where a meal from your sledge *is* capitalised. So it seems like there is some inconsistency there.] (er) 119, 223: 1 Item -> 1 item (er) 119: 2 Items -> 2 Items (er) 119: 3 Items -> 3 items (er) 132: Unless you have just eaten a Meal -> Unless you have just eaten [so: The Barbarians' meal you may have eaten was not a Backpack Item.] (er) 176: You are very hungry and must soon eat a Meal -> You are very hungry and must soon eat [so: The Barbarians' meal you may shortly eat is not a Backpack Item.]
That's a biggun! ;D

Primate upgrade to curing:
Curing Primates with this skill have the ability to delay the effects of poisons, including venoms, that they may come into contact with. Although a Kai Primate with this skill is not be able to neutralize a poison he is able to slow its effect, giving him more time to find an antidote or cure.
Sounds like JD couldn't decide which phrase to use: is not or may not be, and decided to use both!

Yeah, that's an annoying one. We'd actually fixed it in all but a few places, so I've gone ahead and fixed the source file of Book 9, two places in the Readers' Handbook, and the Readers' Handbook PDF. All the source files now have this fixed, and it'll be fixed in the online editions the next time we re-release those books. Cheers!

Grey Star, book 1, section 215 In this section, it is mentioned in a footnote that arriving from page 156 seems to automatically kill the officer and that this is an oversight on the part of the author. I agree, but I also think it is obvious that section 156 is meant to go to section 189; essentially it is supposed to be inevitable that you fight the Shadakine Officer here, which fits with what we know about Shadkine attack tactics and tactics in Lone Wolf books in general: kill the leader. If you don't target the leader immediately, you are forced into a much longer battle against all of his troops and then him. Proposal: That section 156 lead to 189 instead of 215. Sections in question: www.projectaon.org/en/xhtml/gs/01gstw/sect156.htmwww.projectaon.org/en/xhtml/gs/01gstw/sect215.htmwww.projectaon.org/en/xhtml/gs/01gstw/sect189.htm

We did discuss that option but it was voted down. The general rule in the Grey Star series is that all tough battles can be avoided (with the Kleasá being the lone exception), and it is clear that there is something missing here - there's no natural flow from "If you wish to attack the Shadakine officer in command" to "Suddenly you are confronted by the Shadakine officer".
A much more likely thing for GS to do when attacking the officer in this situation would be to fire a bolt from his staff. He hasn't been seen by the Shadakines and has got the time to take aim.

Very interesting! Too bad; because that section is quite jarring.

It sounds the same as the section where you check the Helghast backpack in book 2. It assumes you do it before the fight, so fleeing the scene afterwards doesn't make any much sense. You know what was wrong, and you dealt with it! The risk of making sections do double duty.
