Ok, I have ALWAYS been fascinated by castles, and other medieval stuff, but what if.... Someone actually built a Kai Monastary? I know it's silly, but man that'd be cool I think. Then all the Kai readers from Project AON, and elsewhere could come hang out at the Monastary for awhile. Joe and Paul would hafta be there to christen it. We could throw medieval fairs all year around! Sounds cool, but sily right? I like it. Maybe one day Howling Wolf.... Maybe one day....

Well... it's certainly ambitious. If you know something about masonry and have land to build on, by all means, do. Personally, I'd rather play Lone Wolf than live it, but I'm sure you'd find plenty of people passionate enough to visit frequently.

I'm all confused now. As for the idea, well... it's... ambitious. But what good is a monastery without any kai lords? And as confident as I am in my ability to kick ass, swing a sword, read your mind, defeat denizens of darkness, and enjoy a nice cup of Jala while I do it, I'm not sure that I qualify as a Kai Lord, per sey. And I have no idea how confident others are in these abilities.

I think I can have the cup of Jala... would rather have a nice pint of 80 shilling though and play the game
I do agree, castles are cool, I think I loved that bit the most when I moved from Canada (no castles) to Scotland (lots of castles) a couple of years ago!

I love the idea of castles, but they are hopelessly impractical. Just imagine the upkeep and heating bills each year! They are great fun to look around though. Wales and Scotland have tons NS.

In the words of the great Eddie Izzard...
"Well, we got tons of history, lying about the place. Big old castles. And we – and they – they just get in the way. We’re driving – “Oh, a f-ing castle. Have to drive around it...” Cause Disney came over and built, uh, EuroDisney, which – now – and, and they built, you know, the Disney castle there, and the – it was, “You better make it a bit bigger, they’ve actually got them here… And they’re not made of plastic.” We got tons of them cause you think we all live in castles – and we do all live in castles! We all got a castle each. We’re up to here with f-ing castles. We just long for a bungalow or something."
Edited for the chilluns. Hopefully it was edited properly and meets the standards of the board.

Yup, makes the grade. Mr Izzard is The Man. His bit about careers advice at English schools was brilliant.

"Look, you're British, so scale it down a bit."
I do love that man. I own all of his routines to date on DVD (excepting, of course, Sexie--it's not available).

"I want to be an astronaut, and fly off into space and explore the stars and discover strange new worlds."
"Look, you're British, so scale it down a bit."
"Okay, then, I want to work in a shoe shop, and explore the stock room and discover strange new shoes."
"Look, you're British, so scale it down a bit."
LOL!!! ;D ;D That is so true it shouldn't be funny. But it is.

For Hunting Wolf: Eddie Izzard is a popular British comedian/actor/transvestite. He's rather good. More info here.

This IS doable—since 1980 CastleMagic.com is building real castles. And the heating bill is not high, because castle can be very well insulated. You could even think of Passivhaus castle (Passivgrad?) Sure, you need Gold Crowns. Lot of Gold Crowns.
