Someone posted a thread about a possible Freeway Warrior movie and who do we believe should be cast to play key roles in it. Reading that, I remembered that there was a thread about the casting for a Lone Wolf movie. Somehow, nobody, until today, as made a thread about the casting for a Grey Star movie. So, here it is: who do think could play key roles in such a movie? You can cast anybody from any time period.
Personally, I would cast Orlando Bloom to play Grey Star. If he takes a look similar to the one he had in Lord of the Rings, I think it would be perfect. Also, I would cast Desmond Llewelyn (the good old Q from James Bond), with a wig of course, or the Indian village elder from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. That's all the cast I'm thinking about right now, but I'll add my other ideas when they'll come to my mind.

I think that a younger Winona Ryder would do a good job as Tanith. And Sado? How about Sean Bean?

Unfortunately Desmond Llewelyn was killed in a car crash in 1999, soon after his appearance as in The World Is Not Enough. I was thinking - at the start of the books Grey Star is about 16 years old. Daniel Radcliffe, the kid who plays Harry Potter, turned 15 a couple of months ago. Coincidence? Surely not!

Unfortunately Desmond Llewelyn was killed in a car crash in 1999, soon after his appearance as in The World Is Not Enough. Yeah, I know this, I was shocked when I heard that news too. It is ironical that a guy who played is whole life the creator of amazing cars armed with missiles died in an ordinary car crash...Anyway, as I mentionned, you can pick anybody from ANY time period. Someone even casted old US presidents for a Lone Wolf movie. Since I always thought that the people living in Southern Shadaki are looking like Asian people of our world, I think it is fair for me to cast William Hung to play Shan Li. He might not have any talent in singing, but he might be good in acting.

Re: Desmond Llewelyn- Even stranger that he died right after the character he'd played for 35 years alluded to his own retirement from 'Bond-ville'.
Re: Tanith- I remember Winona Ryder in stuff like Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands when I was younger, I don't know. . . I always pictured Tanith as, sexier? My vote would be [hristina Ricci. Re: Samu- How about Michael Clark Duncan? (Armageddon, The Green Mile, Friday, The Whole Nine Yards)

I always pictured Tanith as, sexier? My vote would be [heavens]ina Ricci. Hum...I liked her in Bless the Child where she played a girl a little weird, with a dark side, but still with a good side very strong because she helped Kim Basinger. This could be a good choice. As for Urik, what about Mike Myers? With a lot of make-up, he could look like an old Kundi. Just think of how he looked in Cat in the Hat.

Good call about Bless the Child, but wasn't she a bit older by then? Mike Myers would be funny, or even Jim Carey: remember The Grinch?

Maybe I'm off, but I always thought Sado and alll the other Tianese nations were Asiatic in appearance.
Now here's the key--what is Tanith? Is she Shadaki or Tianese?(or Sadi?) I've seen her appear to be both, but she has green eyes right? Well, nothing said in Magnamund the Asiatic appearing peoples cant have green eyes.
You have to cast a fat Asian man as Shan Li! Why does he have to die!?!
I have no clue what Grey Star is supposed to be, out of the nations of Magnamund? Hey, maybe He's Tianese too?! hmm

You have to cast a fat Asian man as Shan Li! Why does he have to die!?! It's called drama. Fairly common recurring plot device.

Maybe the internet doesn't convey that I was merely sad that he dies, I am familiar with the finer points of drama, thanks.

Maybe I'm off, but I always thought Sado and alll the other Tianese nations were Asiatic in appearance. (You mean Sadi I guess.) Well, the Shadakinian soldiers all look Asiatic, and so do some of the Suhnese citizens we get to see. Well, we don't know if Shan is from Suhn, actually, but he's certainly from the area. Hugi is from Suhn but doesn't look Asiatic. Hmm. The drunken sailor at the Inn of the Laughing Moon does not look very Asiatic either, but as a sailor he might of course have come from far away. But the Shadakinian witches, including Tanith (see below) look more like Gypsies to me... strange. The few depicted people from Karnali don't look strikingly Asiatic. Neither do many of the madmen of Gyanima, but they are supposedly adventurer's from all over Magnamund. She is Shadakinian: See The Passing of the Shianti, the epilogue to the Grey Star books, which was originally published in Lone Wolf Club Newsletter #7: Reference: www.projectaon.org/en/pdf/lwcn/Newsletter_07.pdfHe looks very "European" on the book covers... so it seems not. But a ship headed for Suhn may have come from anywhere.

I think Grey Star is a "man from the north", just like Lone Wolf. So he's from Summerlund. The reason is that: when Dever wrote the first steps of the saga, he referred to an Anglo-Saxon readership. So he created two northern heroes which could provide a good identification with the reader. I've come to this conclusion after listening to Joe Dever's explanation about the origins of his world in Lucca some days ago. Maybe I'm wrong, but that seems to be the best conclusion for me...

23. Has ever a film director or producer showed interest in making a Lone Wolf movie? Would you like to see Lone Wolf in a film or you only want read his adventures? Yes. I’ve sold movie options to the series on three occasions, but they never got any further than the development scripts. Hollywood is a very fickle place! This was quoted by Dever on the Lobo Solitario Web Site. Makes you wonder if there could be a LW movie on the way someday! www.lobo-solitario.com/
