Zipp, sounds like it has been coming along well since I last talked to you. I am currently about halfway through the third book in my series (which is going to be, roughly, 300 sections). So far it is my favorite.
Like I told you ages ago, it is slow going and requires a lot of forethought and patience. But the results are something one can be proud of. If you never need any advice or just want my opinion on anything feel free to email me at alasi@towerofthesun.com
Take care.

Hey thanks Ronan. I am being forgetful again. I forgot that you too have written. Where are your books posted?
My pre-mission, which is what I'm doing first in order to just see if it's gonna be possible to finish an entire book, looks to be about 150 sections... this is just the introduction to the book. You don't even buy your equipment and stuff until after this. I'm actually surprised. I was sitting here thinking, "man how did Joe do this in a few weeks," and then realized I've plotted out a quarter of his usual 350 sections. The entire first mission takes place in two books, each book looking to be between 400 and 600 sections.
I'm at the same time writting the prequel to the series as a short story (meaning, for me, less than a hundred pages). I'm crazy, I know, it's no wonder I've never finished anything, but each time I get closer. Maybe this will be the one... I hope so.
I'll be posting the prequel when complete.
Oh, by the way... this is asking a big favor, but does anyone have a site of their own who would be interested in placing the books (if completed) on them? I'm not very web savy, and I don't have a site of my own...
If this is not your desire, you could also point me in the direction of how to create my own website...
CURRENT PROGRESS Prequel: complete in 8 weeks (because I'm also turning it in as part of my new major: English)
Pre-mission: nearing completion with the flowchart (about 75%). Then it's just a matter of putting in the time to write all the sections. That said, I'm about 50% complete with the pre-mission as a whole.
At my current progress, I'd say 2-5 weeks for completion. On second thought, I'd better not say.
Mission 1: considering I still have to finish the pre-mission and tighten up the rules, I'm gonna say only 10%. But hey, it's 10%

Zipp,
You would have to write the webpages, but I would be happy to post it on the web for you. Or you can just send a nice long text document.
Oseau's software will spit out web pages for you as well. This would be the EASIEST way.
When your book is ready, let me know - I'll smack it right out there!
Sol

Hey thanks. I'm thinking of doing the books as a document first, before I try the html route, so, yeah, I'd be sending you a big fricking document.
I'll keep you informed as to my progress.

Hey Kenshi, if you're still around, I'd like to do what Sol suggested. Wait until section one is posted on the site he is generously lending me, then read it through when you have time and if anything grabs your interest please by all means draw it. Sorry if the topic got a bit off track from your original, it's a really great offer, thanks!

Well my offering is simply (fairly easy) babbletalk from Planescape's Xaositects. It can get much more complicated, but you learn to half-read it anyhow. (Just like I noticed the other day that I can sightread Roman numerals as easily as normal ones!!)

Don't know if you're already WAY beyond this point, but I might have an idea for you if you want to use it. For a campaign I ran a while back that took place after The Curse of Naar, I had a new villain in charge of the Darkland and Drakkar armies. He was known as the Gogoz-aki, which is Giak for 21, for he had powers that rivaled those of the 20 Darklords. I never did much with him as an NPC because the campaign ended, but he was effectively a powerful Nadziran sorcerer who had taken over the body of a Xaghash by using a Doomstone he'd discovered. This gave him an incredibly powerful body that was capable of great magic, and rather intimidating as well. You can use the idea if you want, as long as you put me in the credits! I'd like to see it go somewhere. . .
