But a huge component of Xu Xia heroes is their romantic interests, ussually with tragic endings. Absolutely! But I see no way in which Q would fit that, despite Dever writing an essentially Shaolin-style monastery, hinting at that sort of scenario. (It's possible that he originally considered the Kai to all be male as well, but that's a matter for conjecture.) Now, if any theoretical screenplay were to introduce Crown Princess Imelda into the story, that would make more sense, and all the more so because we, the viewers, would be able to see its tragic finalé long in advance. (Which finalé would not involve Lone Wolf being dumped for not being clever, wonderful, brilliant, or super enough. ) Interestingly, this would also mirror medieval romance stories. To have a fantasy story full of anachronistic modern thinking and perceptions would, to use the vernacular, suck big time. As a pleasant addition, this would mean Alyss, Petra, and Ohrido could also be dumped.

Actually, that would be really cool. A gay lone wolf would make a lot of sense and the movie could have some value beyond the usually trite Hollywood relationship. Brokeback Mountain with Helghasts? Yikes!

In my humble opinion, a Lone Wolf movie would perhaps be viable if it was a mixture of Lord of the Rings and Neverending Story. Have some young adult wander into a used book store and find a copy of a "Choose Your Own Adventure" book that he hadn't read since he loved it as a kid. So he buys it. Before he starts to play, he finds no reference to it on the internet and no one's heard of it before...it's as though the book exists for him alone. Then he starts to play and he's literally pulled into the book's world; perhaps he hears the noises of a battle or a medieval city outside his apartment, and when he opens his apartment's door he steps out into Magnamund. The book would be revealed as a spell by the Brotherhood to bring the last of the Kai lords to Magnamund to defeat Gnaag. The hero would realize he learned the Kai skills by playing the books as a kid, and the movie would then follow Book 2 (getting the Sommerswerd) and Book 12 (going to Helgedad to battle Gnaag).

PS. The movie could start with Book 1 instead (basically, a confused and dangerous race to figure out where the character is and to escape from the Darklord armies), and then go to Book 2, then 12.

On a humorous note: what if Samuel L. Jackson played Lone Wolf? "I want these motha-f'in Helghasts off my motha-f'in galleon!"

Or Clint Eastwood: "I know what you're thinking. 'Did he roll a six that round, or only five?' Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is the Sommerswerd, the most powerful sword in the world, and would slice your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself a question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?"

Or, once Lone Wolf has the healing skill or curing he can keep getting up after being killed ( Terminator style)...

What, with kooky 60's music out of Austin Powers? LOL, I thought the same thing for a second...but I think he's referring to Halloween.
