And further to the highly esteemed Mr de Curry's remarks, Alyss in the gamebooks is not Alyss from the Legends. They are alike in name only. For a start, Gamebook-Alyss is fairly polite to Lone Wolf. And she even admits that she needs Lone Wolf's help rather than being an extra-Universal being of supreme power who can click her fingers and reorder the multiverse; and she even thanks and congratulates Lone Wolf in Book 20, rather than whinging on about his table manners (cf. Hunting Wolf). While she bears the same name as the ultra-annoying Legends wench, she is in almost all respects a totally different being, one limited in her powers by the universal laws of Aon. She's far more likable in the gamebooks. Still gets on my nerves, though.

Yes. I was comparing gamebook-Alyss with book-Alyss. It seems gamebook-Alyss is a far more balanced creation, who might actually belong in Aon, rather than something else. (Thinks that using someone's universe to include your own characters who bear no resemblance whatsoever to their supposed world is WRONG on so many fronts.)

And further to the highly esteemed Mr de Curry's remarks, I wouldn't be so highly esteemed if I hadn't sat in a pot of boiling water for two hours. Yeah, my jokes do need a little work....

In terms of the RPG, Legends Alyss is a 30th-level Mary Sue.

Joe Dever has developed the character of Alyss in a different way, because there's no doubt that is the same character that appears in the Legends of Lone Wolf, her description is too similar; regarding her powers, I think that they are pretty the same - she can stop the flow of time, and if you don't have the Sommerswerd or the Skarn-Ska she holds Naar from attacking Lone Wolf in The Curse of Naar during the final combat against Kekataag. Probably Alyss is a powerful being but can't manipulate the events too much, so as the gods (Kai, Ishir, Naar) can't combat theirselves but only moving their heroes as "pawns" in the game. That's way she thanks to Lone Wolf for his victory. A nice thing is that Dever hasn't developed the love-story between Alyss and Banedon...

I wouldn't be so highly esteemed if I hadn't sat in a pot of boiling water for two hours. Yeah, my jokes do need a little work.... Yes, that was pretty bad, but it did make me grimace in kind of a good way. Besides that, I think you hit the nail on the head about reconciliation, it seemed that way to me too, rather than having everything conflict completely from one series to the other. @ Outspaced: Yes, your comments too!

Wait a minute I think I know the true idenity of Alyss (legend of lone wolf). Shes annoying, hogs the spotlight for seemingly no reason, and her name is an annagram of the authour? Shes none other than the dreaed entity known to fanfiction readers as Mary Sue! RUNNNNNNNNN!
I haven't read these books, but I'm guessing shes beutiful, lone wolf at least shows some signs of having a crush on her (or failing that, the authrours favorite male characther, sues gotta get hitched). Im also guessing shes eternlly perky and has little, if any in the way of charachter flaws
