went to see this last night.
it's not the WORST film i've ever seen, nor is it the worst adaptation. the fact that it has none of the feel of the comic is irrelevant - adaptations very rarely do. But the fact is, it's just not very good as a film in itself. Several different plotlines from Hellblazer are welded to some bizarre nonsense about the Antichrist and some Catholic woman, which I don't recall being in any of the comic storylines and seem to have been thrown in just as a way of giving it that Apocalyptic, Omen-feel.
In the end it feels like someone's tried to cram in too many different elements into one feature.
Just my opinion. Anyone else seen it?

Having never read the comic, I thought it was a nice little end of the world movie. I wish they had explained Constantine's powers more.

Maybe they are going to make a sequel. I didn't even know that it was based on a comic, and so when I watched the movie, I watched it as an entertainment, not as an adaptation of a comic. Although not the best movie of the year, it wasn't that bad.
