Okay, well, there are a number of enemies who are named after location, but I seem to remember fighting the Duadon Serpents when you are nowhere near Duadon in book... 25?

Sorry Zipp, this is the wrong answer. The Duadon River Serpent appears in book 24 when you are under Skull-Tor, the citadel of Duadon.

Ah... oops. Well, that's a decade of absence from the NO series for ya. I assume, however, that that was the sort've thing you were looking for?

Well, you could knock me down with a feather! I've never even seen a Zork gamebook, let alone read one! That just came out of leftfield. I'll have a think for a question; it'll be posted sometime inthe next 2 hours, hopefully! (That question was darn fiendish, Andyr! ) Apparently Activision granted a Zork fan permission to reproduce the third gamebook in HTML. Here's the link. Have fun! www.boraski.com/zork/

To the NO question... I guess that the Shadakine Raiders do not count as beasts, mean as they are. In book 21 you run into them close to Cape Kabar, which is more than 1000 km away from Ghol Tabras, the northernmost Shadakine City-State. But I guess you're looking for some kind of bug.
Zork gamebooks... I remember them because I hated them with a passion. In Spain they were published in the same collection with all the big ones (FF, Lone Wolf, Grailquest) and I got them thinking they were similar. Then I found no rules, silly plot and quite inverosimile world (I had never played the computer game). At least I managed to trade them for the Sorcery! series... there were crazy people int he world...

You are right: I don't count Shadakine Raiders as beasts. At least, you gave a good hint at what I'm looking for.

Well, I never played the last book, but from conversations with people I know that you fight something called a Nahba Ringworm. I'll throw it out there as a guess.

The question was: What is this the name of that location where these beasts come from? So, the answer is...? (Reformulate your answer)

Antah? A ruin in the Tozaz Forest, Nyras, Western Tentarias. Here you go: the beasts were the Antah Wasps that you meet in Bor (book 26), which is at least a thousand kilometers away from the Temple of Antah, the place they are named after and that Lone Wolf visits in book 15 (he really kept a good memory of this place BTW). Ok Andyr, your turn!

Digging up in my memory, I think I have this one right for asking:
what are the occasions in the whole LW series in which you cannot help losing your whole backpack?
