That depends on what kind of 'doom' you're proposing. If it's mine, then I'm not playing! Welcome to the PA boards!

Fascinating fact, but in Norse times, a "doom" was simply a prophecy about you, or knowledge of your future. Of course, in those days, such knowledge was generally bad, hence the negative connotations of "doom".
NS, who isn't a smart alec, honest.

I guess that's pretty much in line with the Nordic mindset. Without their influence, we English would probably actually be quite happy. ;D

We'd also be missing all those cool words like Skara Brae, Skegness, skull, berserker, skald etc. NS.

and of course s[thingy]horpe, which will probably set off the board language filter.
YAYY!
It kind of reminds me of that bit in South Park the Movie where Mr MacKaye is going on about how instead of saying ass we should buns, etc.
Like some annoying prudish teacher leaning over you saying, "don't say that. it's a naughty word. go wash your mouth out while i replace it with [happy person]."

South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut is a piece of class! Mr Garrison's lyric that:
With 'b1tch' drop the 'T' 'cos 'Bich' is Latin for generosity
is hilarious!

Scun-thorpe, which is in Northumberland or somewhere like that I think, hence the pun "Who puts the c*nt in Sc*nthorpe?".
