The completely inexplicable filter strikes again! What was that supposed to say?

I was filtered?!!? That is such a harmless thing to say! What gives with that? How is it that you can say it and I got filtered? That confuses me, and I am easily confused, so any help is much appreciated... Al

Well, arse is an alternative spelling, so you can say that. And I find it funny that I can type a sentence full of swearing like this:
Those [fudgeing] bitches kicked my [darn] mother [fudgeing] [not a very nice person]
And it gets turned into a veritable children's book! I think it's great! Try to see the humour in it.

I first read a Lone Wolf book from school libary back in 1992, Fire On the Water. At that time I remember thinging the story seemed a little too detailed and complicated for me to get into it. I remember kind of skim reading the book and getting to the end.
I think at that time I would've favoured Fighting Fantasy books, cause many of them had that 'Narrow Path' idea or whatever you want to call it, and required one to make a lot of right decisions and collect the right tools. But Lone Wolf I think now, was more about enjoying the story of Lone Wolf's adventure, than finding a true path through the book.
Anyhow I remembered the Lone Wolf book I got from the Library and decided to try out the series which, with some difficulty in adjusting from the Final Fantasy style, i really came to enjoy. My favourite book is possibly Curse of Naar. Especially the part in that book where you encountered the troubled spirits of Adamas, Sebb Jarell and Paido. I know the death of Paido wasn't made final in Dugeons of Torgar, so I was hoping he might make a surprise return, but well this book tied up that loose end.

Hi Guys, My name is Sofyan from Singapore.
I must say Project Aon is superb. It is a relief to find such a comprehensive and dedicated website to Lone Wolf.
Introduction to Lone Wolf: I first became aware of Lone Wolf when I was in Primary 4(1993) I think, a friend of mine was reading Lone Wolf (cant rememeber which book but I believe it was book 4 or book 5. I was blown away to find such a book existed and got hooked.
Now my collection is that I have managed to collect all the Grand Masters Series, The New Order Series and 3 books from the Magnakai series. Plus 2 books from the World of Lone Wolf 1 and 2.
I must honestly say that I have been out of touch with Lone Wolf since 1999(I think) waiting for the next book to book 29. I found it weird that there was no title of the next book at the end of the book as per usual. Now I know that the series has ended. Very very sad.
Is there a site where I can found out more about what happened or can someone fill me in on things.
Appreciate your help.

The Interview with Joe Dever here, while out of date, does shed some light on what happened between Joe and his UK publishers Red Fox. The whole interview is interesting, but for the problems with his publisher scroll down to the heading "The Future of Lone Wolf". Sadly, the deal he talks about never came off . . . but happily, that led to Joe inaugurating Project Aon in 1999!

My first ever experience with gamebooks was Flight from the Dark in the mid 80s. Quite a revelation for me, since it was probably my first immersion into fantasy game fiction. The book created a buzz around the bookworm community in my school where i was studying and soon the book was exchanging hands around the classroom - me being one of those hands. I vaguely remember reading almost all the Kai and Magnakai books except for Book 6. Most of them were borrowed from friends, I only had book 8, 9 and 10 (but they seem to have gone MIA somewhere in limbo now ) I went on to play other gamebooks like the Falcon, Way of the Dragon and Fighting Fantasy before moving on to RPGs. But LW series always had that special place in me. One day while on wikipedia, I searched Lone Wolf and found the Project Aon link! I was quite stunned to find out not only were there the GM series that I've not read but also the the New Order books. Shows how long since I stopped following the series...

Hi caeleg, welcome to teh site! There is a thriving LW community on the web, of which Project Aon is central. another site is Tower of the Sun (www.towerofthesun.com), you may be interested in that site as well. While this forum focuses on the canon, at the Tower we are writing the story of Magnamund after LW... it is a lot of fun, and very complimentary to here. If you do join, I would recommend playing a character there, and a Dwarf to boot. I am not saying that because I am head of the Dwarfs there, it is a pure coincidence! Al

Al, I hope that when you hit a reasonable number of dwarves you actually start recruiting for the site in general, and maybe get people to play something like a Kundi or a NAK or something.

I will, and while I (and most notably toothillman) are recruiting for the Dwarfs, there has been spillover as well, with The Wolf, who is a sage. Right now the Dwarfs are at the cusp of hitting critical mass (three active dwarfs, one semi active and one lost), then there will be a push for others, I would love to see some of the other classes... a part of me would like to see some Pirates make an appearance! Al Arhh matey!
