Hm? Oh, he didn't beat me. I just ... adjourned ... our showdown. Had a plane to catch. The Daziarn Plane? (not sure if it was an intended pun, but I found it funny, nevertheless. Thanks) Nerethel

edit: Because of a rare spell of bad conscience, I have to admit that I, uh, borrowed it. From an old Dragon magazine. Just couldn't resist ...

Sorry to get to this thread even later than everyone else. In the Magnamund Companion, it lists "Massacre of the First Order of the Kai" and "Grey Star leaves the Isle of Lorn" at the end of the timeline: In MS5050.

The funniest of all : Grey Star travelled through the Daziarn between 5050 and 5057. Lone Wolf between 5062 and 5070. So Lone Wolf got in five years after Grey Star got out, right ? Five years of the Magnamund time make, let's say, about a week in the Daziarn. The inhabitants of the Daziarn could begin to wonder. I spoke of Madin Rendalim, but there's another guy who has met Grey Star AND Lone Wolf : The Chaos Master. In about a week, from his point of view.

"Dear Sir,
Could you stop sending us your people ? Please consider that we have our own problems here and very little time to take care of yours. Wouldn't you mind if we would send you every guy who does not please us ? Surely, you would. The Daziarn is not a rubbish dump. Thanks for your comprehension.
Yours truly,"
(Letter sent by the Chaos Master to King Ulnar, Maiteya and Gnaag)

Of course, this letter would have been sent post-mortem, unless you count all the times you had to get killed by the Chaos Master in order to beat him once. . .

Well, he did intend to take the letters to the post office earlier (after Grey Star's visit, in fact), but, you know, his office desk is a mess, pure and simple. He just lost track of them ... There's a lesson it that, I suppose. Somewhere. The Wytch-King

Actually if you think about it the Magnamund Companion was wrong. Grey Star defeated Shasarak in MS 5054. So since he was in the Daziarn for 7 years track back seven years and he left Lorn in MS 5047. Since he was 16 years old when he left Lorn track back another 16 years and you find that Grey Star was born in MS 5031. ;D

Grey Star defeated Shasarak in MS 5054. Huh? Where did you get that date/year from? *confused burning gaze* Just curious! The Wytch-King

There's something else (this was another old thread on the ML) : I believe that somewhere in the books (probably in on of the New Order series) or maybe in the Legends series, there is a mention of a legend saying that the forces of darkness would be defeated by a powerful warrior and a powerful wizard. (and the question was of course : Who his the wizard, Banedon or Grey Star ? But that's not the point). It makes more sense if LW and GS live at the same time. ANother late comer, but this was from Eclipse of the Kai. Vonotar believes it is him and Zagarna; the truth is it is Lone Wolf and Banedon.

www.algonet.se/~thyhe/Nation.htmClick on 'Shadaki' Says that Shasarak ruled in MS 5050 and that Grey Star ruled in MS 5054. And Grey Star was in the Daziarn for 7 years.

Hmm ... as long as I don't know where they got that date/year from, I'll probably not take the word of a fan site over that of the Magnamund Companion ...
That's not meant as a comment on their quality, of course! But nevertheless it's quite possible that they have changed (or invented) some facts for themselves - after all, it's the site of a web-based roleplaying game.
First-hand lore beats second hand lore (beats LOLW), in my book ... ;D

Dever stated in a Newsletter that Lone Wolf and Grey Star both set out on their respective quests in the climactic year of MS5050. This is then reiterated in the Magnamund Companion as WK observes. Seven years in the Daziarn therefore puts Grey Star's accession to the throne in MS5057, which is in harmony with what was stated in posts on this forum some months ago (I think). The site in question might contain a typo (4->7) or they might have changed things for their 'house rules', or they just might be plain wrong!

In book 22 Joe Dever states that Grey Star defeated Shasarak in PL 5054. Since Rendalim is searching for a cure for the red plague when he meets Grey Star in WoLW book 1, and in "Fire on the Water" (PL 5050) the red plague seems to be no longer a problem, the timeline given in "The Buccaneers of Shadaki" makes more sense then the one in the MC, in my opinion.
