Id just like to say this is possibly the best thing I have come across ever. Huge thanks to those working on it. This is exacty how I wanted to go through the books again. I almost cried. Cant wait for the other books to be done as well. Thanks for the kind words, irakaz. I'm glad you enjoy it. It's currently just me working on the project. It's undergoing a major code rewrite and I am having a hard time finding time to work on it - I'm finishing up school, and am likely going to move this summer to begin a new job. Free time will be a lot less than I've had, I think. Still, it *will* get done, eventually! I've been thinking about finishing out the Kai books(4 and 5) with the current toolset, since there's only 2 left - and then finishing the major code rewrite. At least there could be some sense of closure if one could finish the first 5 books... However, the time spent working on those books with the old toolset is time not spent on developing the new improved tools and program...

There are a number of us (well certainly me!) who would be very happy to work on a toolset - I was planning one to support my own version of the program, and only put it on hold to wait for yours If you don't mind what format it ends up in (as long as it works!) I can write a design for it and get it up & running?

It is also worth noting, if you are not subscribed to the mailing list, that the Aon guys are looking to put a LOT more information into the XML stream, which would include what is needed to navigate between pages for example.

Interesting... I'm not entirely sure what this means. And yes, alderaine, you'd better go ahead and start working on something, since it's unlikely I'll be able to finish what I'm working on in a timely manner.

To cut a long story short: On Fri, May 9, 2008 at 8:42 AM, Benjamin I Krefetz<krefetz@hcs.harvard.edu> wrote: OK, so I got possessed by the coding demons again which told me that Imust code a new XSL transformation to create DOT files. Now that we have an XSL for DOT files, we could take one of two routes. 1) Hand edit the generated DOT files to include that stuff. 2) Add that stuff to the XML in a machine readable way and add somecode to the XSL. A new "requires" attribute on the "choice" elementwould be sufficient, I think. For example: <choice idref="sect100" requires="random:0-3">...<choice idref="sect200" requires="skill:sixth-sense">...<choice idref="sect300" requires="item:sommerswerd">... --Jon ~~~~~~Manage your subscription at www.freelists.org/list/projectaon If you are not subscribed, you should

Doesn't appear to work on Windows Vista... It will load the program, but when I try to start a new campaign (using any of the 3 books) it just crashes. The error message says the "fault module" is ntdll.dll whatever that is ... I can copypaste it over here but it looks rather unhelpful.

First of all I would love to thank Project Aon and everyone working hard to get the fans the lone wolf rpg books. I am a long time fan and originally had books 1-10, but my brother stole them and sold them and the older ones are impossible to find anymore. I downloaded the Seventh Sense a few days ago and I must thank Dave so much for making an awesome program. This is the way these books were meant to be played. Just wondering though about when should I be expecting an update on the program...Books 1-3 held me over about 3 days and now I am addicted to the story and would like to at least finish 1-5. I am not trying to rush anybody in any way. I am just an old fan of the series..

Read the forums, and also see the Aon note about new books. We are ALL volunteers, and new releases come when they come!

Doesn't appear to work on Windows Vista... For the current version to work on Vista, you need to run it in Win98 compatibility mode. Strange, but true. Vista issues will be resolved for future versions. themassage2000: Thanks! Glad you like it. Can't give you any estimate for next version, though.

Just a note of thanks for all your hard work assorted people, I burned through the 3 books in an afternoon and I've only been left desperate for more. It was a fantastic experience, the interface is great, the program runs smoothly and intuitively, and I can't remember the last time I had so much fun in front of my computer. So again, thanks for all the time and energy - you're all created something to be really proud of. A daunting project, but one you’ve more than overcome. More general gushing follows.

Hi,
My name is Jeremy and I am a senior programmer, currently mostly working in C#/.NET although I have seven years of Java under my belt.
I would be happy to lend some of my time to assist with this project. Please let me know if there is anything I can do.

There hasn't been any updates for a while so I thought I would post this. unfortunately I have very little free time this summer but I tried to develop some early concepts for Seventh Sense. I uploaded them to my webspace - www.mckinstryonline.com/LonewolfI apologise if you have a small monitor as I kept all images quite large. Any thoughts or constructive comments will be appreciated, especially from you Lone Wolf veterans. Though Dave has the final say of course.

I can't believe it's almost a month since I posted in here. At least I have good news: A lot of the code has been rewritten. It's coming along really well. Thanks you for the offer of help Jeremy - I'm afraid I don't have anything for you to do, though. As thing get closer to the next release, I'm sure I'll have some stuff for folks to help with, but right now it's all too nebulous.
I've checked out mckinstry's ideas, and they are really great! I think the wolf head will make a great unique identity for this project, while being obviously tied closely to Lone Wolf.
If anyone wants to design a simple webpage for the Seventh Sense project, I'd be pleased as punch - just pm me. I'm afraid I just don't have time for it, but it would be nice to have a webpage with screenshots, info, download links, etc. It can be hosted here on project aon.
The last bit of news is that I got a real job! I'm moving back to Idaho to teach full-time at a university (my old alma mater!). Yay for real paychecks! Boo for less time to work on this project, but alas, I rather need those paychecks! Don't worry, I love Lone Wolf too much to stop working on it. I appreciate everyone's support!
