Y'know, I have a funny feeling that Lone Wolf won't be drawing his old age pension by the time the coming books are through...
Think about it from a plot point of view - the New Order Grand Master will no doubt be the hero of books 29 - 32 (it's his series, after all). Now, why would he be doing all the work if Lone Wolf were around, happy and healthy, to fight the world's evils?
If I were the Kai Supreme Master, I'd start looking into some life insurance policies...

Didn't Joe mention in an interview in Paris that Lone Wolf will probably not die in book 32? I think that by the end of that book, he will be placed in an old folks home on the Plane of Light. ;D

I think that by the end of that book, he will be placed in an old folks home on the Plane of Light. ;D It'd be indeed awesome if Kai and Ishir made Lone Wolf into a minor god (ready to come down to aid Magnamund just in case) and letting the new GM become the new leader of the Kai.

Well, if I it remember correctly, in near future will book 20 be republished by Manticore and if they keep the plan from mongoose book 29 will be published this year too! And after I relooked at an Interview with Mister Dever where he told that the ending will be very ragnarock-style, I have made my own thoughts about this topic.
First: I don't think Lone Wolf will die. But I can imagine, that he becomes something like a guardian deity of Magnamund, which pushes both good and evil out, so that Magnamund becomes the only true neutral planet in the whole universe of Aon. Magic, good and bad, will slowly go away, the magic creatures will die out and when the people of Magnamund will fight something it will be the other races or each other, but no Avatars of pure evil anymore. Something like the Stornlands on a global scale^^.
Magnamund gets the chance to be independent of everything the gods related and I think it would be fitting, because anything else would disturb the balance of the universe.
To the stories of the books itself: Well, the timeline and the introduction suggest, that the Agarashi are now ready to go on full grown war on everyone on the planet and I think after we got the juwel in book 29, we will have to go something very deep in book 30 to kill someone, who is still a threat (Agarash or Vashna, to bring either of them finally down!). After that I can imagine a Adventure on the Darzianplane and an devastating Invasion from both sides, light and darkness.
And because this contact with another plane of existence gets Magnamund near the brink of destruction, Lone Wolf and the Grandmaster have to take the artifacts of evil and good (Lorestones of course!) and bring them to a place, where the border between the two worlds is thin, so they can perform a ritual (maybe with Bandeon and Rimoah, the useless old fart) and use Lone Wolf as the borderstone between worlds, because he is walking deity on Magnamund. And while that takes place, the Grandmaster has to fight one last epic battle against the big bad of this storyarc (because it is Lone Wolf and there has to be a final fight in every book) and at the end the world is finally saved, but a lot was sacrificied to achieve this ending.
That are my thoughts on the last four books.

Interesting ideas.
I kind of think that there will be an epic finale with Agarash and Magnamund's fate will finally be decided but with the increasing use of Shadow Gates the epilogue will reveal the God War enters a new phase, the Kai, etc. Will be urged to travel to the worlds that have fallen to Naar to spread the word of Kai and Ishir and reclaim them. Perhaps the Moonstone is destroyed and the random Shadow Gates from Grey Star appear more often.

I got the impression from the inteview that Lone Wolf WOULD die, but be taken to the plane of light. I guess it depends on your point of view how one gets to reside on a different plane and stay. Having Agarash the Dammned and the Darklords come back with all their spawn would be a big world war, Ragnarock style. But hey, if we can bring them back, then let's bring Sun Eagle and Nyxator back too !

Team of grandmasters assault fortress in Naaros, LW and GM make it through to fight Agarash, LW takes the fight to the galaxy, GM assumes command of the Kai. Got to be.

Yes I think Naaros, plenty of foreshadowing with Mydnight's Hero and Hunger of Sejanoz both touching on the edge of it. Surely one of the few places we haven't been. Got to be somewhere difficult to hunt for food.... Would quite like to meet Telchoi Amazons too.

I haven't re-read it all but some interesting posts on this thread. 10 years later what do we think?
