I'll have to read my LW books more carefully. Maybe Book 16 will shed light on the subject...
But logically, if it were bottomless, wouldn't the other end be in Shadaki somewhere? So maybe Vashna joined the forces of the Wytch-King, and ekes out a living as a gatehouse guard in some long forgotten outpost.

Hey! I may be far away from Sommerlund, but I'm not on the other side of the planet, okay?! Sheesh ... And as a gatehouse guard? Hmm, not sure if he's competent enough ... could get a job as official caretaker of the Darkling Room, though. Maybe. If he stops that swooping around of his. ;D The Wytch-King

I agree with outspaced: Dever NEVER mentionned that the Maakengorge was filled with lava. Since I never read the novels, for me, I imagine that the Maakengorge is very deep but not bottomless, let's say 5-6 km deep (for my American friends, 3,2-3,8 miles deep), but this is my own impressions. Anyway, it MUST be very, very deep.

Okay, that's what I had thought. Thanks for confirming, Outspaced! ;D

And what about the chasm of Gorgoron? Is there something special about that place? I know there is two bad beasts that came out of it and that we fight in book 21, but that's all I know. Could it be a proper location for a LW adventure? I want more informations about it, I'm dying to get them, please, someone, help me!!!

Well, I don't know about book 21 yet, still awaiting the copy I won on ebay, but I DO know that Banedon has an encounter with a beast known as the Gagadoth, which was supposedly Agarash the D@mned's steed according to the Legends series in the third story in "The Tellings". If you've seen, or can find, the cover picture it shows it in detail.

Never saw the cover of any of the books in the Legend series because they're not available in Canada (well, at least, not in my province since we speak French and that English books are not very common around here ). But thanks for the info, that is something I had never heard before. By the way, it could also be useful for that subject about the Agarash servants on the forum.

Never saw the cover of any of the books in the Legend series because they're not available in Canada [...] Here you go, then ... BTW, Mithrandir's Gamebook Grotto is quite a good resource for covers and contents in general ... Just go and have a look! As for Banedon and the Gagadoth (the true story no less! ): Time to indulge in a little woe for the past ... In the Lone Wolf Club Newsletter #5 (Pdf) the following was said in the Monastery Mailbag: [/I][/ul]A darned shame that these books never got published ... The Wytch-King

Thanks for the info! I started to read all the newletters: they're a big treasure! The info worth a lot to me since it helps me to understand well the Magnamund. Anyway, I never though that the big bad Wytch-King could be kind sometimes.

Anyway, I never though that the big bad Wytch-King could be kind sometimes. SSHHH! Don't say that so loud! He'll get upset for you calling him that, and make up for it by making you scrub the Darkling Room for a week like I had to! ~Relenoir, who really does hold a soft spot for the Wytch-King. (But don't tell him I said so! He sees everything in that Kazim Stone of his!)

@ Cadak: Must be great to be under constant control by Naar ... ;D OK, let's compare . . . Horribly mangled body + fortress any Shianti can teleport into VERSUS giant fortress in the middle of Ruel, an Exterminus tapestry, opulent lodging, and the ability to summon giant disgusting rat-creatures to slay errant Kai Lords So, HA!

I beg to differ ... [/B] horribly mangled body - fortress any Shianti can teleport into but is free of nosy Kai lordsVERSUS - giant fortress any Shianti can teleport into as well in the middle of Ruel - an Exterminus tapestry that just ruins your whole throne room whenever a Kai lord visits- opulent lodging that seems cramped somehow, compared to a whole Empire ... and is full of vermin- and the ability to summon giant disgusting rat-creatures to slay errant Kai Lords that compare to Jahksas exactly how? ;D So, HA! [/ul] "Ha!" indeed ... Apart from all that, I prefer being my own master every day - but you are of course entitled to bow to whomever you want ... The Wytch-King, who seems to be a favourite target of all those youngsters around here *scratches head*
