Cool. That's what I meant - and how I've always played it in the book. I don't think the rules allow for spread bets.

Hey Dave just wanted to say Seventh Sense is wonderful, I forgot how many times you die in each book. your project realy makes the books and the work of project Aon shine.

Stumbled upon the news that the books had made their way online (since playing them last in my bedroom back in the 80s/90s), and am extremely grateful that folks like you with the skills are creating an interactive gaming experience. I've just started toying around with the interface and absolutely love it! All good karma to you for the remainder of the project!

Thanks. Glad you're enjoying it. Unfortunately, a recent death in the family has curtailed my activities in developing Seventh Sense for now... It will resume soon, I hope. (I should be having more free time this semester than last - my days won't all be ending at 10:30 PM!)

Well, I've completed testing every section for book 2 except the portholes game you play with the sailors. So, once that's done, and I add in the fan-art for book 2, Book 2 will be finished and ready to play along with Book 1!

"So, out of curiosity, what's going on with the project? I've looked over these forums, and from what I can tell, the last available download was months back, and the only explanation of what's going on is pretty vague."
"From what I understand, the project is being revised, and it was mentioned that Book 2 or 3 was almost completely done. Another forum mentions something about book 6..."
"So, not to rush anyone, I just want, well, a Progress Report. Are we looking at a release soon? If so, how many books?"

Sorry if it seems vague - Here's the short version: I realized that the current release of Seventh Sense was buggy and held together with computerized rubber bands, and that the best way for it to move ahead was to take an enormous step backward, and start the entire project over from pretty much scratch. With all that I have learned about A) programming and B) what Seventh Sense needs as a program, I have been able to rewrite almost the entire thing in just under a year, and have added gads of new features and have made the software less buggy.
So, the last official release contains code to play the first 3 books. The in-development version currently has only the first 2 books ready to play. With my improvements in the editor, it should make future releases happen much more quickly than they would've in the past. I will probably release the new version once I have completed book 4, unless there is a strong indication that the community would rather have the new version earlier.
The only bad news is that now school has started and I have a pretty sizable teaching load, which means I don't have much time to work on the program. But I still plug away at it every few days.

Unveil the new program when the first four of five books are installed, that way gives a better user experience in that you'll feel like you've played through an installment rather than little snippets. Tide you over until the next installment. I say take your time, its worth the wait Creating the program should be fun so if it becomes more of a chore take a nice break.

"I just wanted to know. I'd be happy just to have the fully updated version of the first book, no worries though. If you'd like a fan opinion, if the new program was the long part, release it with the first two books, then take your time and release large chunks of books at the time (like, the rest of the Kai, then all the Magnakai, then all the Grand Master). I mean, if you feel confident they won't take as long. I'm psyching myself out by waiting until all the new features are released until I start a campaign. Plus, I don't want to have the first three books memorized and then have to start over, I'd probably 'metagame'."
"Either way, I'd be glad to just have some info about where you are in the project from time to time. I'm just anxious, so don't mind me if I do the potty dance in the corner here while I wait." ^-^

I think we're better off with a new release for each book once we get the first big chunk out of the way. that's the point of this thread! Feel free to dance in the corner - I'll try to get the next release out before you get too desperate.

It will be great to do the first 5 books on your program - for a start, in any case.... And yeah, it's definitely worth the wait - I recently played the first 3 books on the old 7th Sense again - very nice..... ;D

As a general note to all who browse this forum, or any AON forum... As stated in many places on AON, please do not pester! Please do not ask when the next book, or the next project, will be available. Commercial games companies, who get paid for releasing games, rarely publish release dates until shortly before release. Nobody here is commercial/paid - we are all volunteers, and we are producing things as/when we can. We do ask volunteers to let us know if they run out of time to work on something, but we understand if other things get in the way. All that being said, we very much appreciate the interest and hope to release more exciting projects for you in the future!

Yep, it is coming along - last night saw more work finished on the Action Chart, which now only has one page left to be done, and it should be pretty simple. A "Notes" page, where the player can enter information, like jotting stuff down in the margins of the real books. (It will also display information automatically when LW contracts a disease, like Limbdeath, or gets addicted to something... Long range effects like that.)
Also, the monastery/storage system is working perfectly through the action chart, as well as the recovery of Lost Items/money.
