Hi, First of all, this is a great place for us, the Lone Wolf fans. Thanks to your marvellous work. Now, I might be too much fanatic, but I own all the 28 books of the series in the French edition and, starting with book 20, the editor stopped putting the maps at the beginning of each book. I know there's a lot of copyright stuffs related to this, but I was wondering if there's any place on the net where I could get these missing maps? It helps me to imagine the settings of each adventures. Thanks in advance, whatever your answer might be.

The following three maps (which I linked to elsewhere in the forum about 6 weeks ago, but I can't remember the thread name . . . d'oh!) are scans of the original Brian Williams illustrations for the Lone Wolf books in questions. They are (c) Brian Williams 1995-2004, and Magnamund, Lone Wolf etc. are (c) and TM Joe Dever 1984-2004. homepage.ntlworld.com/ravensblade/dever/LW23.jpghomepage.ntlworld.com/ravensblade/dever/LW26.jpghomepage.ntlworld.com/ravensblade/dever/LW28.jpgIt is worth noting that even in the UK editions, the map for Book 26 was printed in black & white, even though the original (as show here! ) is in colour! Also to reiterate: the map in the UK edition of Book 28 is wrong--it is a reprint of the map in Book 27. The map linked to here is the correct map that was never shown. Project Aon has access to these maps only because Brian Williams generously donated copies of all his work on the Lone Wolf gamebooks to the project, and sent the originals to our Project Coordinator. Obviously, Jon's a busy guy, so he's got other things to do than scan in the maps of the New Order series--particularly since we have enough work still to do on the books we can publish. But he made the above three available for we fans. So thanks, Brian and thanks, Jon!

So thanks, Brian and thanks, Jon! And now, thanks to you, outspaced! I'm pretty happy to get a copy of these maps. I have to say that the French editor published the maps for book 1 to 19 in black in white only, and they even decided with book 23 to stop putting the drawings of Brian Williams inside the books. Even worst, the French editor published Rune War as the 23rd book of the series while Mydnight's Hero takes the 24th position. I was confused when I first read Rune War since it was telling about the precendent mission and it wasn't looking like the story from book 22 that I had just finished reading. Anyway, thanks again.

Just wanted to say the similar problem occured with Czech books - there were printed only 15 gamebooks in Czech Rep. and the 3 GM books (#13, 14, 15) were printed without map. So I had a little problem deciding which way to choose when infiltrating Mogairuth, Kaag and venturing into the Hellswamp .
