My favorite book of the New Order is Mydnight's Hero. Oh man, the race against time, that is cool. And you visit a lot of country: Sheasu, Bhanar, Naaros, Kelderwood, Siyen and the Great Lunarlian Plain... Along the way, there's a lot of informations about the history of each region, wich is pretty interesting. Anyway, don't you think the story looks like the one in book 18? (You are at the other side of the world and need to get somewhere in a very short time) Still, it's one of my favorite in all the LW series.

LW 23, of course. It has that feel of high adventure, the race against time as Black Cat put it so eloquently, as well the thrill of travelling through countryside and human lands.
It just makes for more interesting reading that sometimes your worst enemies are not the forces of evil, but men, corrupted by the darkness in their hearts.
Hmm, I always went for the choice of getting caught by city guards, and then leading the Marshal and his men in an attack on the castle....

The text just brings the action over in a few paragraphs, but you are rewarded with a grand finale duel against the big bad guy...you should know who is it. Pre-requisite: Just be sure you get hold of a certain parchment...

I've voted for Buccaneers of Shadaki because it's the only one I've got. I never got massively into the New Order series, but that probably is because I've only read the one.

I haven't gotten to read any of the New Order series but The Fall of Blood Mountain always peaked my interest and curiosity the most.

Ah, you just want to fall from a narrow bridge into a deep chasm and have a scuffle with a powerful agarashi all the way down ... The Wytch-King, who's especially curious about Voyage of the Moonstone and Buccaneers of Shadaki ... naturally ...

I haven't gotten to read any of the New Order series but The Fall of Blood Mountain always peaked my interest and curiosity the most. Argh! That is unforgivable! I won't forgive you! It's a pet peeve of mine when people mis-use the word 'peak' like that. Interest is never, ever peaked. It may have peaked--i.e., it reached its zenith and then descended; I was becoming more interested, but then my interest reached a peak and it has tailed off since--but it does not get peaked! The word you're looking for is the French-derived word piqued. This has been a Party Political Broadcast by the Anally Pedantic Party. Return to your constituencies and prepare for dinner.

Got the whole NO series in French just to find out that from book 23 onwards all the illustrations were cut out! (and no maps since book 20)!! I've always felt that in LW the illos play together with the writing's feeling and the setting in a big way, so my chice is a bit hard, but till I get some more Red Fox copies I'll settle for book 21, I love long treks from town to town meeting locals and weird challenges and architecture. Book 22 is cool, but I started feeling that the Grand Master had inherited Lone Wolf's nefarious luck in his Kai training: just a recurring problem with ships, to avoid any further spoiler... I felt book 23 really exciting too, just missing the faithful BW illos and his vision of Naaros and Bhanar.

Yeah, it made me angry too when I saw that the illustrations and the maps were cut out. But, by browsing on the web, I found some of the missing maps. And, on this forum, some of them are available here: projectaon.proboards30.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1085726351

Thanks by the tip, I got those couple years ago, when they were in DL Oasis. Now I'm doing my best to collect a full UK set, I guess at times I cannot help myself...

I just bought my very first New Order book! I just bought Mydnight's Hero and I cannot wait for it to come in the mail. Now I have 6 LW books that should be arriving soon. Yay! I do have a question for yall UK people.
If I send someone in the UK an United States check that is made out in the equivalent of US dollars can that person cash it in the UK? Thanks for any help.
