"Oh, that wound looks bad... Here, let me help you..." *Helghast kills LW a few dozen times* This hurt almost as bad as getting my tooth pulled on Thursday- yet both felt much better in the end Difficulty: Hardcore Disciplines: Healing, Weaponskill (Sword), Mindshield, Hunting, Mind Over Matter Starting Equipment: Axe, Map, 9 Gold, Helmet Starting Stats: CS 5, EP 15Outcome: After a few dozen campaign restarts due to needing a certain spear- Deathless! It being a no-death run was kinda unintentional- I only restarted the campaign because I was on Book 2 so I didn't feel like I had done much yet. After that, especially since I don't want to relive another -15 CR Helghast encounter, I promised myself no more campaign restarts with that profile. As luck would have it, and a TON of luck at that, I pulled through the rest of the Kai series near death, just not dead LOL "Oh, that wound looks bad... Here, let me help you..." *LW pushes spear deeper into chest to kill Helghast* (Just so you know, during one of my failed runs, Halvorc actually killed me- YES 8 CS HALVORC! I think I returned his stare of disbelief that time, mostly over the fact I forgot to buy a weapon)

Wow, Kamikaze! You are officially the craziest person ever. Congrats on the insanely difficult (and lucky!) run! I don't know if anybody will even want to attempt to match that record! Incredible! (Website is updated) (Just so you know, during one of my failed runs, Halvorc actually killed me- YES 8 CS HALVORC! I think I returned his stare of disbelief that time, mostly over the fact I forgot to buy a weapon) This almost deserves a special distinction of its own! I think you may possibly be the only person in the history of Lone Wolf to be beaten by Halvorc! I actually laughed out loud about this, and my son, who also likes Lone Wolf, came over and expressed his own disbelief. Very funny!

I can attest to the difficulty. (And the evil of the RNG gods) I just attempted a "mythical" run. On hardcore, no Weaponskill, Mindblast, or Healing, no deaths, 10/20. I got to the Dhorgaan right before the version of the Haakon fight you just instantly kill him with his Doomstone.
I died because of a string of 1 and 2's. That was my second attempt, the first failed because I was being forgetful. Things I'm going to attempt differently next go around: I'm going to grab the Jeweled Mace instead of the Oede (I thought I'd need more healing than I did. Low combat runs are awesome).
I must admit, I prefer Tim McKinstry's discipline choices to Kamikaze's or Honza's. Mindshield saved my bacon more than a few times this attempt. Also I really don't like tracking, or it's decendant, Pathsmanship. But that's because I get their major benefit for "free" with meta-knowledge and recording my own path. But for right now, I'm going to take a break from difficult runs. I am going to work on posting my routes for the Kai and Magnakai series, after I finish the Magnakai series.

how do you *start* with 5 cs? do you need to do custom rules for that?

executioneer- It's a new feature that Dave added to the 1.6 release. Before you start a campaign, go to your Action Chart right after you pick your starting CS and EP. There will be a red button on the CS and EP scores on the Action Chart. Click it and you can make your scores lower than those you picked- this works regardless of which mode you play on, so if you wanted to try a By-the-Book run with lower stats than what you got off the RNT, you can. The lowest scores you can have as base values are 5 CS and 15 EP (even By-the-Book would be extremely challenging that low)

Just to check, Hardcore (no deaths/restarts) doesn't mean that you can't restart from book 1, right? I mean, if you die somewhere along the line, you don't have to actually delete your profile and make a new one to qualify for this, but just go back to the beginning of Flight from the Dark, right?

Congrats Tacitus! sheesh. and I thought I was going to impress anyone once I finished a 10/20 Camouflage/Hunting/Tracking/Sixth Sense/Mind Over Matter run (which I haven't finished yet, freaking Helghast) :/ Ouch! No Mindshield? Dropping EP every round even on a zero roll- yeah, that's impressive.

well it'd be more impressive if I could actually pull it off... maybe I should restart character generation when I don't get the Helmet in Book 1 :/

Anyone else find it interesting that there are more people in the Hardcore No-deaths category then the regular Hardcore?

Hey, Dave, do you think we could have a hall of fame for getting all the awards in a series? That would add incentive to get those awards (as if we needed any!)
