With all due respect to the translators, tough, the task of translating all the Lone Wolfs adventures is monumental. We are talking of 27 books (31 if you count Grey Star). With some characters or cities appearing in several books apart from each other, I must admit the challenge of continuity is almost as difficult as Shamath's Riddle.
In regard to Grey Star, the Shianti have been translated to "Majdar" while in Lone Wolf, the name Shianti remains the same in french. It's only with the New Order adventure I finally realized Majdar and Shianti were the same. At least, I wasn't alone in this case of figure, since the Vassagonians have their own translation (Majhan)! ;D
As for the Giaks of book 5, I thought too they were a different breed of "Gloks". You know, first the Squalls (Szalls), then the "Gloks" and finally the evil most powerful elite Haakon's squad, the Giaks!
Oh well, imperfections or not, those translations still did the job during my teenage years... and beyond. Lone Wolf is still today my all time favorite Role Playing Adventure book.

Luckily, in czech version all names were the same as in english. Luckily indeed, our translators are able to make very "inventive" translations. For example, in some Star Wars book they turned "lightsabre" into "lehká šavle" which means "lightweight sabre". Yeah, I heard this stupid phrase in one part of X-Files, where one mentally ill girl claimed that she was expecting Luke Skywalker's baby. Mulder said: A mel i svou lehkou savli? (Had he also his light-weight sabre?) Terrible! Even MY english is better than some "translators'"...

Why is it that upon Lone Wol's capture in Duadon, all your goods & things are confiscated save your Special Items eg. Sommerswerd? Aren't they the FIRST things they would take???

To make LW as weak as possible & killable w/o the Sommerswerd I mean.

Does anyone have any clue? ;D I guess this is one of the inherent loopholes in the LW series.
