On a completely unrelated topic, this is my two thousandth post on the Project Aon forums. I really need to get out more. That's nothing, someone on another forum I'm a member of has a post count of 18,340

Another minor point of contention. The platinum amulet in some of the Grand Master series should ask if you already have a platinum amulet because this was introduced in Castle Death, if and when you find your confiscated items. I think Gwynian gives it to you, regardless of whether you have the item or not, in 'The Legacy of Vashna' and only that in future GM books. The only difference I see is that the one found in CD is a bracelet, and the one in the GM series is a necklace. This does not take anything away from the game play.
CD's is in section 15. and the first mention in the GM series is in TLOV section 45.

Thanks for the spot! This has been fixed in the source file. The next time we re-release Book 13 it will be fixed online. Cheers! BTW the elite thing in book 12 has still not changed. Every time you release do you just add on? Because I know you guys added "The Buccaneers of Shadaki", since I reported this. Death Knights, the elite of the Drakkarim.... " Strictly speaking, it should be " ... Death Knights, the élite of the Drakkarim.... " I absolutely hate this error! It's been there since 2003, and although it's been fixed in the source files for about four years, we still haven't re-released Book 12 with the silly error gone! Maybe next year...I hope...

Like it doesn't say you can bring a shield over. But in some of the GM books it says you cannot use a two handed weapon and a shield or use bonuses from a shield. So I guess you don't bring over padded leather waistcoat, or a chainmail waistcoat then. I view it as unique items, Sommerswerd, Ironheart Broadsword, Helshezag, or Dagger of vashna those are all unique. As well a some, not all, non unique items. Silver Bow of Duadon, Silver Helm, Silver Bracers, etc... This is after all a "You are Lone Wolf. Determine your own destiny. A Role Playing Adventure." Series. There's a certain artistic license for most books that is left up to the reader. You can call me a cheat if you want to. But this is a solo adventure. Kinda like my roommate in college telling me I cheat at solitaire!

BTW the elite thing in book 12 has still not changed. Every time you release do you just add on? You will see this error (and all other you have reported) by that time the books will be re-released. If the errors are making you discomfort, you have to use the Editor's Companion: www.projectaon.org/editorThis is very useful gizmo, it looks into the test area with up-to-date versions of books. However, there is still some inconsistence that the Companion looks into the test area, but only for books 17 - 28. Books 1 - 16 are referenced in their published version - with errors that have already been fixed. It is a little annoying, should anyone fix this?

The Platinum Amulet is not among the Special Items you are allowed to bring into the GM series, so LW cannot be carrying it in Book 16. Ok. So I guess it just depends on how you view the rules then. Our mission is to publish the books Joe Dever has written, and we view his rules as... rules. We try to correct inconsistencies in the books, for instance cases when a section asks if you possess a certain item although preceding sections have already excluded the possibility that you do. We will not introduce inconsistencies between the game rules and the story. Indeed, the rules state that you cannot carry over a Shield. I made a quick scan for occurrences of the words "two-handed" and "shield" in the GM books and I couldn't find any place where something like that is stated. Do you have any examples? This is not about telling the readers what they can or cannot do, it's about publishing a text the way the author intended it. We are editors, not co-writers.

The only one I could find was Castle Death, where lone wolf is hanging precariously, but as you said that's not gm. I'm still looking.. point taken

And that's just the Lone Wolf forums I'm on!

I used to post at a board where the admin almost made it to 40000 posts before the whole thing crashed (or got hacked) in 2004.
