Why not start a new awards thread?

Double post, but how about some premade characters? For instance you could have one with high CS but low E, one with low CS but high E, and one with them both somewhere in the middle.

Just some food for thought-
In book 9, would the Blue tablets from passage 155 change to Sabito root tablets (x2) on passage 29 and have same use on page 289, only differences are the name and number of uses? The reason would be since you don't have curing but do have healing, you have an inkling of what they do, just no idea about dosage. (doing this might mean a red button on sabito root tablets to force the change on p29, possibly graying out the option to turn there on p155 unless you put the tablets in your backpack) Or, for less work, since the text suggests this anyways, just keep them as vial of blue pills (x2) regardless?
Also, during the subterranean part of book 9, are you coding it in as a partial wasteland, where Hunting can't be used but Huntmastery can for food, or total wasteland where both are useless, or leave it open to both considering the possibility of rats and other possible subterranean life (passages 218, 175, 11)?
It may go without saying for book 9, but there might be a need to use a red button for the confiscated items at passage 350 before permitting access to the next book. Some people may forget to click a green button, and thus lose SIs like the Sommerswerd, and an auto-restore may inhibit reclaiming Named weapons, or overwrite a weapon someone wanted.

Thanks for bringing those issues to my attention, kamikaze. I'll have to get back to you on that stuff when I actually get to book 9 and can deal with it... Rest assured - if it is something that must happen, a red button is used!

Well, it's been a while since my last update, and I don't have much to report, but at least I did work on the program a little last night. I got the action chart to show you your choices of disciplines from previous series. So, if you start a hardcore game, upon going to book 6, you can look at your chart and see which of the 5 you took, and in what order you took them. (Of course, you can only click on those 5 disciplines on the disciplines selection page, but I think it's nice to see your rank and disciplines from the previous book. Plus, then you can know what weapon you have weaponskill in, etc.)
Bonuses from Kai disciplines ONLY are carried over to Magnakai, if you have completed all 5 Kai books. The so-called Loyalty bonuses include: Hunting - You can still fulfill a Meal requirement as long as your not in wasteland, etc. Healing - +1 EP per section w/o combat Weaponskill - +2 CS if the special weapon is equipped. Mindblast - +2 CS is enemy is not immune
Of course, a couple of those have stacking options in the Gameplay rules (Healing/weaponskill), so people can play it how they want! But they still have to complete all 5 books, if they want any of those skills to carry over into Magnakai.
Well, that's the scoop. Once I finish the action chart for the Magnakai series, I think things will move along pretty rapidly.

Well, the action chart is done for Magnakai, and I finished and tested all of the extra psychic/weaponmastery stuff in combat - working very well!
Got all of the needed inventory management done to handle arrows/quivers.
Have got a good start on adding Battle/Item pics - will finish that up soon (once the semester ends).
Actually started getting some of book 6 ready for the program... he, he he!

Nice!! I am really looking forward to playing the magnakai series... and after using seventh sense for the kai series the old way (manual) just doesn't seem to cut it for me anymore. Thanks for all your hard work bringing the lone wolf series into today's high tech world. I can't wait hehe!!

I'm currently at the Altan combat in book 6 - for the silver Bow. It's the big archery tournament. Thinking of how I will incorporate all of the "archery tournament rules"...
Have been working on some new graphics as well, for the pages.
I want to get the Awards system working before I release the next version, though... we'll see if that really happens or not.

Dave,
One more BIG THANK YOU for all the work you've done to make Books 1-5 look and play amazingly in Seventh Sense. I downloaded it on Christmas and it was the best present I got!
Any chance we could get a rough ETA on Book 6? Or are we on a "It'll be done when its DONE" status?
Cheers!

Or are we on a "It'll be done when its DONE" status? Cheers! Thanks for the kind words, Solemn. Pretty much "It's done when it's done" has been the status every step of the way. Still, progress is being made, and it will be done eventually! But I can offer no estimates as to how long you'll have to wait.

For the Magnakai series, are you going to add a "Mongoose" type of play (altered stats of Altan (28/50), Kimah, Chaos Master etc.)?
And for the Tournament rules, I was using this type of "house rules". When I have Weaponmastery with Bow, instead of adding 3 to CS, I add 3 points to every random number chosen each turn during the tournament, i.e. if I picked 4, I treated it like 7 (if I picked 7, 8, 9 or 0, I treated it like 0).

development continues:
- finished incorporating some cool new page graphics (thanks mckinstry!) - began incorporating kamikaze's award system. Everything internally is working great. Now I just need to add an action chart page, so you can see the awards you earn! - added a "future-proof" cover-checking routine - instead of a hard-coded list, a focused-type of wildcard search will automatically find newly authorized covers as they become available, and it takes less time to check for new covers.
So, it's not a lot, and I am still on the section with Altan, but this awards things is a pretty big deal, and will be a very cool part of the program. Once I have some screenshots, I'll show you guys.
