Greetings. I am a fledgling here. I was a fan of the Lone Wolf gamebooks back in the day (school years - the 90s) and have just recently got back into reading Dever's work. I have been eagerly hunting down the "Legends of Lone Wolf" series and have only 2 more books to go before I complete the collection. I was surprised to see some of the harder to find books of that series going for $80-150 on Amazon! I however have been combing the local secondhand bookshops of my area and have picked up those books for no more than $4, which is the cheaper way of doing it. Anyway... I have a question:
I remember reading/playing one of the Lone Wolf books years ago and there was a race of creatures, which I found very interesting. Unfortunately I have forgotten what they are called and was wondering if anyone here could help. The book (I forget the title) was set mostly underground I think and there were a race of creatures that were invincibile to physical damage (swords etc couldn't hurt them). Does anyone remember them and what they were called? Thanks.

Ehhhh... Are you talking of a gamebook or of a novel (the Legend series)? If it's the gamebook, then maybe the monsters in question are the Helghasts in Fire on the Water (gamebook #2) that can be harmed only with the Sommerswerd or with the Magical Spear.

I would be willing to bet that he is talking about the underground city in the Cauldron of Fear.

But that book's not set underground. Correct, but maybe he's thinking of the Helghast you meet in Tarnalin.

Correct, but maybe he's thinking of the Helghast you meet in Tarnalin. Yeah, that's the one I was thinking of... but I didn't got the chance to explain it earlier because university is taking most of my free time.
