I notice things over at Cubicle 7 have been very quiet since the initial announcement. I figure they must have something in the pipeline by now. I'm quite curious to see where they go with (what I assume will be a new) RPG.

Please add my voice to those eagerly waiting for paperback versions. I kept waiting for the softcover versions from Mongoose, and waited, and waited, and waited. I can't afford the hardcovers (snazzy though they sound), but will preorder in a flash as soon as paperbacks are announced.

Hi there. I think most of you guys allready know about the ending of Mongoose Publishing. This means no end of Lone Wolf as we - the Mantikore-Verlag (Mantikore Publishing) now go further with Book 18+. We are a german publisher for RPG“s (Game of Thrones, Paranoia) and Gamebooks (LW, Fabled Lands, Real Life...). Last 4 years we published LW book 1-12 in german language. And now as we heard the news about Mongoose - we said yes to continiue with the series. I think this will be the right place to keep you fans posted about the latest news. If you have any special questions just ask us via mantikoreverlag@aol.com. Are there any questions at the moment? I would be happy to answer it Hi, I enjoyed the Lone Wolf GameBooks from 1-24 more than 10 years ago and they were the first GameBooks I ever played. I was overjoyed to hear of their reprint and would like to collect these editions in their entirety. I only recently heard of the end of Mongoose Publishing and the continuation by Mantikore-Verlag. May I ask: 1) Does Mantikore-Verlag have any PAPERback copies of Books 1-17 (from Mongoose Publishing) for sale? And are they available for overseas shipping (I live in Malaysia)? 2) Does Mantikore-Verlag intend to reprint Books 1-17 in the near future? I thank you for your continued efforts in allowing fans like us to once again immerse in the wonderful world..

1) Does Mantikore-Verlag have any PAPERback copies of Books 1-17 (from Mongoose Publishing) for sale? And are they available for overseas shipping (I live in Malaysia)? I can easily answer that even if I don't work at Mantikore: the paperback copies of the new version of the LW gamebooks never existed. Mongoose made mentions that they would one day make them, but it never happened. The Collector's Edition is the only version available and the first 17 ones are all out of prints.

So it means I will have to scour Amazon, Ebay, and other methods which will be costly Or you could be patient: rumors say that Mantikore are discussing with JD to get the rights to republish the first 17 books. Maybe, just maybe, it will happen within a year or so. EDIT: BTW, I've just noticed some of the new LW gamebooks (1 to 17) can still be ordered over at the Mantikore's website. Probably these are leftovers of the Mongoose production. The books available to order are 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and the novel Glory & Greed. At 20 Euros per book, it might be cheaper to buy them there than with Amazon or eBay.

Mantikore already seem to have republished German versions of the earlier Lone Wolf books? But not English versions yet?

Mantikore already seem to have republished German versions of the earlier Lone Wolf books? But not English versions yet? Mantikore have the rights to publish the German version of the new LW gamebooks, a deal that was made way before Mongoose cancelled the republication in English. When the English version was cancelled, Joe switched to Mantikore to continue the publication in that language but only for books 18 to 28. It took less than a month for Mongoose to cancel and Mantikore to pick up the rights that I guess this deal was made very fast to allow both Mantikore and Vincent Books (the publisher who has the Italian rights of the new LW books) to continue the publication in their respective language. The republication of book 1 to 17 and the mysterious 29 to 32 will certainly need more discussions between the different parties involved.

Does anyone if there's any more news about whether anyone has picked up the rights to publish all the books in English? And for an even rarer answer, any chance someone might publish the bonus quests as an anthology? As someone who (luckily?) missed the boat on the published Mongoose books, I'd love to read them.

Nothing about the republication in English of the gamebooks originally published by Mongoose. As for the anthologies, I think they would wait for all the bonus adventures to be published first before starting a republication. Also, since each adventures have a different set of rules, I don't think it would be something easy to do. And since most of the adventures are tied to the main Lone Wolf adventure, they would be out of context if they are published in the anthology form.
However, I do see all the Dire adventures be put together in one book one day. It's the only recurring character we see in the bonus adventures, and each adventures have the same set of rules, so it would be easier to put all four adventures together in one book.

But if the context is the original gamebook, then the adventure would still make sense yeah? Or have the adventures been modified to include something to tie in these side adventures? I'd have thought that the adventures would have been based on someone already featuring in the adventure or something else that's related but doesn't occur at the same time of LW's visit, or both? Dunno, I've never read any of them so I don't have any example of them to go by to better understand what they're about and how they're integrated.
